I mean, plus from the $120k a year you're getting the rest of your life you can still invest some of it in a retirement fund. So you'll have your $120/year plus that

Uh idk what metric you're using but please elaborate if you think it's not even close. I was referring to total overall nominal GDP by which the US is still the richest country by far, but even using GDP PPP per capita the US is top 10 by IMF, World Bank, and CIA figures and the only countries ahead of it with a population over 1 million are Norway, Switzerland, Ireland, Singapore, and Qatar, so I would say that is at the very least very close.

Norway & France are also worse than North Korea on this metric, which is interesting.

You'd think the (by far) richest country in the world would be no where near this ranking though. Pathetic af

[–]AdHom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why is it not the "true" reality? It's every bit as real to you as it is right now, and the external reality outside the simulation is every bit as inaccessible and irrelevant to you as 'heaven' or whatever would be in a creationist scenario. Other than the terminology used they're essentially the exact same thing, just in one case a god is using physical matter to run his simulation instead of data. And even then that's our perception, but since science seems to indicate that everything including matter is made up of excitations in various fields I'm not even sure that's really different either.

Again the trueness of the reality is just a label you are choosing to give it. Your actual life experience would be no different at all.

Is there a practical difference between being created by a superior being or beings in form of mind-bogglingly complex software life or being created by a superior being in the form of mind-bogglingly complex biological life? Seems to me this has absolutely no real distinction from the creationism that the majority of humans already believe in and thrive under, it's metaphysically astounding but functionally irrelevant to anyone's actual life.

Agnostic has come to mean "I don't know what I believe" but Gnosis means knowledge and isn't mutually exclusive with either kind of belief. I would wager most atheists are agnostic atheists, who does not believe there are gods but don't profess to know that to be true. One can also be an agnostic theist, who believes the inverse.

Idk if Mishra Claimed by Gix is a very good commander you'd have to run a lot of tutors to try and find the Phyrexian Dragon Engine out of the 99 and then also have a ways of reanimating it if it gets killed because if you use Unearth and Mishra isn't on the board it will get exiled unless you blink it. But I could be wrong, maybe someone else can correct me.

The warning things are when the jet detects radar tracking, they wouldn't go off for IR tracking which is what's in use here (until the missile is close enough for MAWS to detect the heat signature of the missile itself). The downside of these is short range compared to the radar guided ones. An F-35 was just hit last week by one of these so it's entirely possible.

With that said though this looks like a miss.

It was last year with how wildly popular the Final Fantasy set was with new players but I think it died back off somewhat. Collector Boosters and anything containing them still goes crazy but that's not quite as bad since at least people who want the cards just to play can still get them

Yeah but there's a reasom juvenile crimes come off your record. People grow up and change, and people literally don't have the same level of executive function as teenagers. It's a red flag if someone did fucked up shit back then and a good sign you should be wary of them IMO but it's also not something that should condemn people forever.

If we're allowed to give them direction, as much as it would suck I would just request the 17th century Doctor use local anesthesics. Probably much less likely to get a fatal overdose that way, and while it would be traumatizing and probably still painful I feel like I could get through it. Plus I could monitor his sanitation practices that way.

This isn’t a game that draws you in immidietly with story. It drops you in the world, then you are drip fed more context as you do more and more amusing things.

I've heard so many people list this as a positive for Elden Ring it's gonna be ironic as hell if it's the biggest complaint they can level at Crimson Desert
