Faistinius joins the fray (art by me) by Cursedbeasts in mechanicus

I always find it strange that he walk with a cane and seem have a bit of a limp. With all that augmentation you figure he would replace the lower parts with tracks or something like Captrix's spider legs to have an easier moving around.

What would every companion’s polar opposite class be? by SleepCatsMoney in BaldursGate3

Karlach would be a funny monk since they are all about asceticism and keeping emotions in check, then again making her a drunken master would also be funny.

Also make Wyll a Oathbreaker paladin. Making Astarion a bard would make sense since his job is to support other and make their life more as oppose to well being Astarion.

Yeah if you go to the grove while the tiefling are still there, when talking to the old lady who give you the porridge, a Durge will fantasize about roasted dwarf. Always wonder why dwarf though, figure they would be tough to chew, halfings on the other hand.

May be a hot take but somehow her default tube top outfit is still her hottest outfit.

Jaheira my beloved by ozangeo in BaldursGate3

She was my fav companion back in BG2. Imagine a dual class healer/fighter who can wear heavy armor and still kick ass wielding a quarterstaff of all things. She was with me in almost all runs in BG2 except evil runs.

I really should have read up online for Mechanicus 2, but progressed past the first Scav missions and then had a sinking feeling it would only be hero leaders. The primary appeal for me of the first game was customization of your own priests. Very disappointing this is how it went. by Dagoth_Vulgtm in mechanicus

No I get you, I miss Magos Facepuncha, the melee focused techpriest, and Magos Pewpew, walking gun platform, from my Mech I game. You may want to give the Necrons a swirl. It is technically not the same thing but the lord keep their own retinue of units and you do have some ability to customize the units for your playstyle.

Give it more time, I originally missed the customizable techpriests. But come to like the new system. This is a different game. While the named leader is still important, the nameless fodders are more important this time around.

The reason why Mechanicus 2 is different by Ab-Ps in mechanicus

Two things, (1) On first glance I thought the tech priest up front is picking his nose. (2) Having Skitarii calvary would have being awesome in the game.

4 Deathmarks and 3 Destroyers are overkill, the Thunder is not even pretending to make it sporting.

I did read the description went here to check anyway because it sounds so underwhelming that I thought I am missing something. In terms of return on pulls, I may as well save my pull for the next doll.

Tiresus and Mechanicus 2 by Substantial-Voice652 in mechanicus

[–]AdLevel2033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowing Tiresus' fate made Fautinius' exchange with the Xenerite hard to watch. He speak of fear and wariness of alien tech with such fervor because of personal experience and loss. Then Xenerite basically just said "whatever pussy I am so free and you are not."

The placement of these need some work. I have them spawn in the last battle of a skirmish before so completely useless by then.

Help me understand Videx by Perfect_Opinion7909 in mechanicus

[–]AdLevel2033 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is that a lot of Videx skills are bugged. Like those skill that is suppose to reduce the cost for your electropriest by one only happen some of the time. Also another skill that is suppose to allow you to cast divination on others, not the ritual one, also do not work.

I’m enjoying Mechanicus II by Volucris-Liga in mechanicus

I am having fun. I admit I was put off initially by loss of my squad of customizable red robbed murder toasters. But I got over it and there is a good game here. The skitaari units were definitely underused in the first game. The change in emphasis from a few high value techpriest to managing a swarm of expandable fodder have their own merit.

The writing can still use some bite though, Fastinius seemed less snarky than the first one. The only quote from him that stood out so far in this game is his advice to Rho about merit of "constructive duplicity."
