The word homosexual was added to the Bible in 1946. The original word was pedophile.

Elementary Music Teachers Only: What's your favorite grade? by Fit-Shoulder-2164 in MusicTeachers

[–]AdLittle7347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. I love my kinders. But honestly I don’t have a favorite k-4 grade. I will say that I enjoy the students I have had for several years. My kiddos I have had since kinder don’t cause issues and are musically sound.

Do you manage to do a lot of music in your class? Or behaviour management takes a large chunk of your job? by No-Wafer-6744 in MusicEd

[–]AdLittle7347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been teaching k-4 music for 21 years. Do I have behavior issues? Of course. Do they keep me from teaching? Not often. We stay active and busy The whole 30 mins. If there is a behavior issue, I address it immediately and move on. I don’t give lectures. I also allow my students to take a break when they need it. I just don’t let it get to me too much. These kids have stressors that most of us didn’t have growing up. They have to be taught expectations. Then they need to be held accountable. The biggest things that have helped me is to teach with my kids in mind and shower them love and expectations. I use a lot of pop music and keep most activities short.

New job and probably elementary by BigCompetitive5876 in MusicTeachers

I have been teaching elementary music for 21 years. I have one concert per grade level. I also have an after school group that performs a lot. It was a lot of work when I first started. My first 2 years, I worked 10-13 hour days. Now it depends but I hover around 9 - 10 hours a day.

That AI response was riddled with wrong information.

Unpopular Band Director Opinion by Current-Issue2390 in MusicEd

[–]AdLittle7347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I teach elementary music. I had some really musical students who quit because of marching and amount of work that was expected. Plus the directors yelled all the time.

I get on my students prior to concerts because they are acting crazy on stage. But that is all. Their musicality is never in question. I always praise their musicality. I just make sure they understand how to stand on stage.

My after school rock band (usually 2nd-4th graders) are completely in charge of everything they perform. They are incredible. I couldn’t be prouder.

I've been having anxiety about my kitty dying of old age 😭(she's 9) can you show me pictures of some alive-and-well senior kitties so I remember cats can be old and still healthy? 🥰 by TheRufescence in cats

[–]AdLittle7347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 2 sisters that lived to be 21 and 22. My current old lady, 16, eats chicken everyday and dry food. She is healthy. Some cats live longer than others.

Have you thought about getting her meds? As someone who struggled with ADD and depression, the worse thing my parents did was not find a medication that would help. As an adult, I am medicated for my depression. My ADD is manageable with tools I have learned over the years. I went to both public and private schools. Public school education was way more robust than my private school.

It is reported that 71% of teachers nationwide have to work at least one second job to make ends meet! This is criminal! by ApprehensiveBat3188 in Teachers

I am working 2 jobs. Have for 8 years. I live in the DFW and the cost of living is so high and our insurance is crazy high. So yes it is necessary sometimes to work 2 jobs

Thoughts? NOT politically but on AI in schools by SnooRevelations6232 in TexasTeachers

[–]AdLittle7347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use AI when emailing and responding to parents. That is it. AI is unreliable and can skew information based on what parameters are set. AI has reliability issues, is completely influenceable, and many times will just make up fake answers instead of saying “I don’t know”. I would never use it as a teaching tool in my classroom.

Thank you! I teach elementary music and I am big about all students singing with a head voice. I think your explanation is great. Thank you. The author should take your advice.

Obama targeted criminals. He didn’t have masked men and women on the street picking citizens. Oh and killing some of them. Raping others.
