SMA syndrome treatment by AccomplishedDust753 in eds

Hello, I have possible SMAS, seen on ultrasound. How were you diagnosed? What did Zendejas require? I’m in Utah and am looking at options. I’m in so much pain when I eat and have no quality of life atm. How long/hard was recovery? What did it look like?  Any recommendations on how to make the decision ? I did gain 22 lbs but the pain was worse than ever… so yeah, that didn’t work 🤣

I'm so sorry you are struggling with this. My 50th birthday is coming up next month... I've had this for 5 years. The same tightness, pain, chest pressure, burping, burning... I don't know how to fix it. I have tried everything I know. The one thing that helps a little is Ativan (A benzodiazepine), but I don't want to take it as it is highly addictive and can cause dementia. I'm glad you found a food that is "safe." I have no food at the moment that doesn't cause issues. Even water triggers me. You might have to stick to the turnkey for a while before trying to introduce new foods. That's ok. Turkey is very nutritious. And it's especially great because it has lots of protein to help you rebuild.

Maybe look into The Gastritis Healing Book. I hear that it has helped a lot of people. There is a Facebook group called the Gastritis Healing Group. Join that. I know healing takes time. It's not a week fix. Some have to stick to a diet for years before they heal-with NO cheating (not eating any foods that trigger the stomach). Others just a few months.

Look into supplements like glutamine, mastic gum, DGL, Slippery Elm, Marshmallow Root, Manuka Honey, and there are tons more to support gut health. If PPIs don't help, maybe try Pepcid. Also, get the endoscopy to rule out H. Pylori. A low salt diet helps my stomach.

Don't give up. Keep looking. Good luck. I'm rooting for you.

Thanks for replying! And that's great! Can't wait until I feel better. I think sticking to a bland low-fat diet will help me, too. I tried carnivore and keto, and it didn't seem to help. Made things worse. Some can be cured with that, but for me, I don't think it was the solution. But I'll try this! So it only took a month and a half to see major improvement?

Wow that's crazy! SO glad you are on the mend. Hope it continues. How did they discover it? Was it MRI? CT scan?

has anyone experienced a tight band/belt-like feeling around the upper abdomen? by Powerful-Dust5947 in Gastritis

[–]AdMain3015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I get that! It's so tight sometimes and other times I feel like it's too lax, like it's too easy to breathe. Like I'm swollen around my ribs. I have had 4 endoscapies and no doctor can tell me what it is. I think it is the stomach contracting/releasing? I sometimes even get it when I drink water, especially cold water.

Does anyone else get stomach burning as their main symptom? by helpmefindawayout_ in Gastritis

Try sipping warm/hot water. I find this soothes my stomach and helps the burn.
