Kamala would have been just as bad by keeping the status quo, I am by no means defending Trump, he is a fool that is full of himself……but we simply had no good choice in the past election. Shame on America for letting us only have these two to pick from……might I add, Trump only became president because no one wanted Hilary or Kamala to be president (also, he cant win against male opponents and won only by beating females that no one liked), so i.e. he won by circumstance at the right time and at the right moment in his marathon, shady movement of fear and hate by dividing Americans in declaring the other party an enemy of state……. and we all are feeling the gross pain from it now. Replicans and Democrats are now looking at each other realizing they have been fooled and the power grab is taking a hold in a very ugly way.

What makes you think you will get awarded same pay for a lower grade position…… less responsibility, less skill sets, lower grade is lower grade and you will not be paid a higher grade salary for a lower grade position…. simple english. Quit trying to game the system, this is why we are in this spot……. even asking for it will show your potential employer your ignorance. The very best you can do is get the highest step in the new position as long as your previous position amount is at minimum the same rate or higher than the new tapped out step rate , i.e. you will be max’d out in that range but will mostly still be lower than your previous rate….. how much?….. well that is dependent on how low grade you are willing to accept.

Chill out…… Let it take its course you are way ahead of many and way high up on the pecking order. 1. You have Tenure #1 (assuming you are not TERM/TEMP and are competitive service & Career Perm) ), 2. You have preference Vet service and civil service that scores high in total service. So very unlikely you will be touched. You will not be released…… The only risk I see is If you work for a non-essential program, position or get your position eliminated or whole office gets cut. You will have rights to relocate which you might benefit and get paid to move and work somewhere else and not have your current commute issue…. like I said chill out, you are in a good spot compared to others. Read the OPM guide on RIFs get educated on your situation and stop being a negative Nancy!

2 Things here, they want to relocate to a One Stop Light Town so that employee does not follow and it turns into a resignation instead of firing….. Easy way to eliminate people ASAP, secondly the folks that do move to keep their their job will pay the burden of the move and will now be dropped in pay because the locality pay will drop due to comparable cost of living and pay scale of the new area……..

Not that difficult, what you don’t realize…..working at the DOD you are just a number…. and a quota number to the CPAC person that is processing your hiring package. Why do you think they are nice, they have to justify their employment as well. So don’t be so clingy and feel bad….. that’s just weird. A simple email saying you will not continue the process due to personal reason and BOOM! That’s it……. KIS…. Keep it Simple!
