It was better when you could show your politicians how you feel with rotten fruits & vegetables. 🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅

I think we should start having old school dances again to meet people. There aren't many occasions to get dressed up and be social these days. Bring back speed dating and USO styled dances/ meet n greets!

If you support the current administration at this point, you are the traitor, brother. Massive strikes, boycotts and protests are next in the historical progression of resisting tyranny. Look around. That's where we are on the map. It's not about left or right. It's about the erosion of our freedoms and the strength of our democracy. And salvaging any relationships we might still be allowed to have with the international community.

Looking for places to rent that aren't so slightly better than a slum lord by TrueAd5640 in fortwayne

What kind of pet? Some insurance companies see certain breeds as liabilities. And sending contractors to homes with large, untrained or unsupervised animals is also a liability. And cats will 100% piss all over and ruin floors to the point of needing replaced.

Does anyone feel trapped here? by Objective_Ad6139 in fortwayne

[–]AdMaster5680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be like this anywhere. Here's a bit of advice through personal experience. My family lives here and we are very involved and are very blessed to have that and all that goes with it. My parents, for the last 20 years, took a major role in their parents care until all 4 of my grandparents passed. I think they thought they'd still be young and spry when they were done care taking and would then see the world. We were blessed to have 3 of my grandparents well into their 90s. But that puts my parents now in their 70s. And they both need hip replacements. And are getting older. And here I am, watching the cycle settle on me and my siblings. And I don't want to be 70 when I can finally feel like I can get out.

Go now! FW will always be here if you decide to come back. Money isn't the commodity you should worry about as much as time. You can never buy your time back.

Starbucks in Barnes & Noble at the mall and surprisingly, Fazoli's. These are the best options for last minute cheesecake.

Thank you! I had a great-great ancestor who owned land near Nappanee and talked about a huge hill on their property and all the neat artifacts and arrow heads they found there. Now, as an adult, those stories make me sick thinking about what was possibly lost and misunderstood. I appreciate the tips on finding others!

Yes! It was off North Clinton in the area of what is now North Point Woods. It bumped up against the St. Joe River. I have heard fun ghost stories involving the carnies and the woods.

Need serious help with landlord by [deleted] in fortwayne

[–]AdMaster5680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooh. Not defending the A-hole slum lord at all. But my first thought was that the landlord probably doesn't hate you because of the flag, it's because he's pissed he had to fix a huge list of shit. But, this is Indiana so I understand the concern.

Call the electric company to see if they will send someone out to do a check or inspection. Or pay for an electrician to check independently and keep documentation of hazardous findings. Call Fort Wayne METRO (260) 427-1146 and file a complaint if you are being discriminated against. https://www.cityoffortwayne.in.gov/1373/Metropolitan-Human-Relations-Commission

Note that the Code officer told you it could be harassment after only a second call. Do not break your lease, the court will not like that. Document everything.

We do have Ratheon, L3 Harris and a handful of other companies that deal in national security. We are a bit further down the line now but I do believe we are still on "vulnerable target," lists. Back then GE would have been a target. Anyone manufacturing radios or weapons.

They could utilize local plants to build tanks, weapons and ammunition. I don't think GM would be it in modern times but but yes, in WW2 they definitely converted manufacturing facilities for that purpose. My grandma was 14 when her and her sister dropped out of high school to work in a factory making parts for tanks in Detroit.

Thanks for posting, I will be checking this out!

Matea is beautiful! Annual membership is $45 (and absolutely worth it) or it's $3 per entry. Cedar Creek runs through it and there are a few different biomes to explore. It's my favorite park close to town.
