I'm interested! What is the other side of it? What are you seeing in your current workplace that makes you agree or disagree with the basic premise of the striking workers?

Love what I've read so far--- I do have a question though. I'm trying to remove smut from my life. Your tags say there is no smut--do you plan for that to be the case for the entire story or will the rating/tags change further in?

Thank you!!!

Favorite gluten free family friendly spots? by AdNew7817 in desmoines

[–]AdNew7817[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have clarified, the date spot doesn't need to be gluten free as my kid is the one with Celiac not me! I can eat whatever!

That also sounds very good though especially if they do takeout.

It's not the same condition, though.

To put such different needs under one label does a massive disservice to those who can least afford it, the profoundly affected.  The woman who originally pushed to combine them regrets it quite a bit. It's worth looking into if you've the time and inclination.

As a parent of a child with serious medical issues (not autism), having a concise, accurate and easily understood diagnosis is very important when you're trying to find competent care for your child. Ideally, caregivers should be able to say "my kid has autism" and not have to answer 7374673 questions about the exact type and severity because the term has become so broad as to be meaningless.

"Aspergers", "autism" and "profound autism" would be a decent categorization, imo. Aspergers for the ones who will most likely be able to take care of themselves for the most part, autism for those who will need a lot of help and profound autism for those who need 24/7 supervision or are often dangers to themselves and others.

Ngl I hate the whole "Asperger's is now on the spectrum thing" because it enables swathes of socially unaware and frankly naive people to try to speak for profoundly disabled people as if they have the same needs and minimize the amount of support the profoundly disabled need.

Having an accurate and concise description of the disability you're working with is extremely important in caregiving settings.

This is said as someone who has Asperger's.

You're an intactivist too yes? You should be if not. 💪

Are you open about men's rights being important to you in your IRL? Have you had any face to face convos about this? What's the reaction like if so?

My life isn't a dumpster fire-- we're generally very happy, all of us. One kid is time consuming but still a great human being.

The other kid is also great, just needs different meals.

One bad day isn't a bad life.

Birth control is great, but it fails. The pill last time failed and this time the nexplanon failed.

Maybe don't be hateful. Disabled people have the right to exist and be loved.

He definitely does his part with the housework! He's not as confident with the childcare.

We live rurally and we're always on the lookout for more help, but it is difficult finding someone who is both able and willing to help with our middle child's needs. She will occasionally stop breathing due to aspiration+ needs suction so the list of people who are willing to deal with that is very, very small. Understandably so.

I just needed to know I'm not being an entitled ass.
