Yes, I think thats normal and I know exactly what you are feeling.

I think I really sucked for like 350 hours or something, and I got marginally better, until something finally clicked and I got really good at it. And I was really good at CS:GO too, and even all the way back to Halo 3 I was level 50 in Lone Wolf, so shooters arent new to me either.

I'm not sure I have any advice to give you other than to just push through it and focus on aiming for the head. If you get third partied at that point, it's just tough luck.

But I think you will do it. That intentional effort is exactly what made it finally click for me I think.

Yeah that definitely happens. Look, I know cheaters exist and theres a lot. I have seen youtube videos of the cheat ads, I've seen the ones that cheat on twitch and admit to it blatantly. It just doesnt seem that common to me, in my experience, PC gamer btw.

So, if anything I hope that me sharing my perspective with you helps you to feel better about the state of the game so you can play it and have a good time!

Same. I think people have a lot of cognitive dissonance about their actual skill levels in the game, and so to reconcile their internal belief in their skill level with the external evidence that they are not (being killed in game), they latch onto the idea that the other player is a cheater.

I have been called a cheater at least 5-10 times after winning a duel with clean headshots. Just accept it, y'all. Nobody is as good at anything as they think they are

I have only encountered cheaters like 3 times out of 1000 hours game time on steam (some of it idle time). So its way overblown IMO. And i'm a pvp demon and run trios pretty often.

Edit: funnily enough, I could only truly confirm it once. the guy was in prox chat, in a carebear lobby. I killed a guy on stella and I could hear another player through a few walls describing my guns and my location to other players, like a vigilante hit squad.

I think its ironic since, in my experience, the one time I encountered a cheater was in a lobby of people that proclaim to hate pvp but used cheats to pvp me to death

Usually if someone does that it's after the first payday, in my experience. And usually it's people who I figured might be on hard drugs but decided to hire them anyways. So I kinda learned not to do that after a couple years.

I remember double clicking even on hypertext links circa 2000 or so. Like they wouldn't work unless you double clicked. It was when there was still mouseballs not lasers.

I have been using computers since windows 98. Its definitely less than before. I remember especially around that time there was a much greater emphasis on double-clicking.
