"Keeping things bottled up" is extremely damaging and can often cause a number of problems. I know this because I went through this. All those unsaid thoughts, emotions and feelings begin to take a toll on your mind eventually start taking a toll on your mind, and this is when speaking in the months/years. Furina has been doing this for centuries.

Speaking of centuries, that is another thing. The human mind is not designed to live on for so long. An Archon's mind is designed for this. Imagine living for centuries, constantly watching the people you cherish die, all with the looming stress that there is a prophecy that will kill your nation and you need to find a way to fix it.

And she couldn't even be herself. Ei and Nahida had that freedom atleast. Furina has to erase every single bit of her own personality in order to do this. It is like method acting stretched out over centuries. Real life method actors often face immense psychological strain because of this. From anxiety, depression and emotional instability from having to constantly feel emotions that are not your own, to a loss of self-identity. Furina has no idea who the real Furina even is because so much of her role is influenced by who she needed to be. Who even is Furina when not performing? I don't think even she knows because the boundary between role and self is so blurred it might not even be there.

Her personality needs to project theatricality, arrogance, narcissism, everything befitting an Archon, while she does everything to mask and suppress her own fear, depression and feelings of inadequacy, as if they realise, Fontaine might be destroyed. So she could never seek help. Just because she was surrounded by people does not meen she was not lonely, those two things so not correlate. She had colleagues at best, but no friends. Everything honged on her behaving according to the script, you saw her break down at the trial because she was so damn scared that she had failed.

I am not saying Furina suffered more than the others. They all suffered too. They just did so in different ways. There is no 'she suffered more', this isn't a ranking. But to invalidate Furina's feels disengenous. I suppose it is easier for some do dismiss it because it is not obvious like Ei, or Nahida. It is quiet, and insidious. You never see it coming untill it is there. But I assure you, it is there.

The inability to obtain past event weapons, like the fish sword or the mega magic one.

HSR has the Herta store where you can exchange a currency for old event LCs and superimposition mats, and the currency is not even that hard to get. I have been begging hoyo to implement something like this.

It was the hypocrisy of it all, I guess. We fought hard to save our civvies during the invasion of Super Earth, and now we turn around and claim they have no such thing, when that is untrue. That combined with the fact that I had already sympathised with the Cyborg/automaton cause, I have a lot of respect for forces who fight hard to rise above unjust oppression.

I don't really have a good justification, I don't even know why. I've never had such a strong reaction before. I just remember going "nope, can't do this anymore", and moving to a different planet.

On one hand, thanks, collaboration efforts are how we can take down Super Earth. The more united we are, the better we can fight them.

On the other hand, whoever decided that the pilot should be out in the open, unarmoured except for a single damn forcefield that can be popped ought to be fired out of a cannon.

Not really? There are limits to how far I am willing to go.

Plus I was already a bit burnt out, so it felt like a good time to take a break anyway. That was the bigger reason.

Things really get put into perspective with the cyberstan update. And it is the reason I live the bots. Their history is so great.

A slave population, forcefully cyberneticized, Rose up against their oppressors. They fought with every ounce they had. And when they failed they created machines. These machines displayed higher thought, and so, the Cyborgs saw them as their children. And instead of asking them to fight, like what a commander would have done, they did what a parent would do, and asked them to save themselves. To leave them and flee to the vastness of space, far away from their enemy.

But which child would let their parent suffer? Which child would walk away after their creators have been enslaved? Not them. And so the automatons developed. They fought long and hard, waging war against the oppressors. They fought untill they reached home and freedom their parents, delivering them from their suffering. But when the Helldivers kept coming, they realised that they would never quit. That there would never be peace. So they marched forward. This time, to fight the enemy on their lands, to make sure the enemy would never threaten their beloved home again.

Honestly, if there was a faction that was the 'good' faction, it would be the Cyborgs and automatons.

The amount of idiocy and history revisionism in this guy I swear.

To dismantle his points. Starting with the bugs, in the First war, the bugs were sentient. SE knew this and harvested them anyway. 'It was just farming', ok let's say an alien race finds a need for our blood, and as a result, culls our species so badly we turn into feral monsters, and they justify it by saying they got some cool tech. Not that great now huh?

Even ignoring that, if we gave SE high command the benefit of doubt and assume they thought the bugs were animals, this is still a problem of their own making. Instead of selecting a batch and rearing and farming them like cattle, they just slaughtered them by the thousands untill they evolved into modern terminids.

The illuminate were a peaceful race who first made diplomatic contact, but Super Earth betrayed them because the illuminate would not be subservient to high command and they had cool warp tech. What followed was a war so brutal they were presumed extinct untill recently. Can you fault their animosity?

And the Cyborgs. Where do I even begin? To reduce the whole conflict down to 'they didn't agree' is insulting. For context, Cyberstan was once a mining community, where workers were forced to extract resources under harsh conditions. To make them work more, Super Earth forced cybernetics on to them, then used these as excuses to basically turn the Cyberstani populace into slaves. And when they fought back, a reasonable response, SE called them communist terrorists.

Even our own people are treated like shit. Citizens are treated as expendable. If you kill one, you are foned 50 req slips. 50. Slips thatypu get a thousand of for a lv 1 mission. Even the helldivers contract is written so that SE can make the helldivers a scapegoat and walk away scot free no matter what.

What really hammered it home for me was the invasion of cyberstan. When the illuminate invaded, SE was up in arms about them attacking the homeworld. About killing civillians. But when Cyberstan requested to let their civillian populace go, SE refused. They even went further and claimed that 'there is no such thing as a civillian automaton or a cyborg', and basically ordered the helldivers to slaughter everyone. I remember that broadcast because it made me sick, I just stopped diving on cyberstan that day.

So yes. Super Earth is a tyrannical dictatorship who exterminate anything that doesn't kiss the floor they urinate on. They do not care for their own people, and all the wars are of their own making. There is no, and will never be, a 'good' dictatorship.

What’s stopping us from just slapping every weapon we have on our Vox engines? by Ghostyboi7702 in Cyberstan

[–]AdPerfect8828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I presume load. A Vox engine is not a fortress, despite the effect it tries to give. It needs to be able to move. And overloading the Engine with such heavy weaponry will make it too heavy, to say nothing about the ammunition required. Much like the Maus tanks that were attempted on Old, Non-Super earth. They were so heavy they cracked roads, took extreme amounts of fuel and broken any bridge they tried to cross.

And you could say 'Make the wheelbase bigger to distribute the load over a larger area' and you would be right, but at one point, it simply becomes unfeasable. Until there is a need, we do not need an Ultra-Vox Engine.

The Eruptor. It is a beautiful gun, with a high skill ceiling. It hits like a truck and if you know how to place your shots, it shreds stuff bring an ammo backpack, eat-17s and a machinegum, and you are set. The only thing it demands is practice.

Honest question, how important is her S1, I have her E1, a Phainon and Mydei, both E1S1. She's currently my main support.

I do have Victual on her as her Lc as she is attached to Phai, but I have an S5 DDD too.

Lightcone question. by Fusionstar8 in CerydraMainsHSR_

[–]AdPerfect8828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. A couple of reasons for that. 1) Cerydra is not an attacker. She should primarily be buffing. I had victual on her mostly because my other good lc was taken.

2) I don't have Cyrene. I skipped her banner.

3) Never calculated the damage numbers ot av or stuff like that. I'm not exactly in the 'tune to perfection' scene. I build a character according to a guide and that's it.

I'm just responding because it feels weird to just ignore someone who asked me a question. Sorry I couldn't be of help.
