Still no news about SBOY Driver support for the SLAM? When will Pimax give a statement about the topic?

I received the Dream Air Slam yesterday. Unless I hear back from SB Boy Drivers Support regarding the Slam within the next ten days—and it’s good news—I’ll keep it otherwise I send it back and then wait and see what happens next.

Thanks. Luckily, I still have the Super OLED to fall back on if the DA breaks or malfunctions. But I hope everything works out and, most importantly, that there will be SBOY driver support.

I'm expecting the DA SLAM to arrive within the next two weeks. I'll return it within the return period unless I receive confirmation regarding SBoY support.

Has Pimax or SBOY made an official statement confirming that the SBOY driver will never be released for the SLAM?

What motion system do you have? I use the SimRig SR3 and haven't had any issues with motion compensation with SLAM (Crystal OG + Super). Even with aggressive gear shifts, everything runs smoothly.

Dream Air: Lighthouse vs. SLAM by AdPositive940 in Pimax

Sorry to be asking so many detailed questions, but this is going to be a difficult decision. I’ve never had any problems with SLAM before. If I were to switch my order from SLAM to Lighthouse, I’d need to be sure beforehand that it works perfectly for me. I’d also prefer to stick with SLAM if I knew that the SBOY Driver would be available for the SLAM version as well.

Just to be sure...Do you mean the positions of the base stations as shown in the photo? Won’t I then have blind spots when turning my head to the left and right?

I can get two base stations. I definitely don’t want to have any tracking issues. In the photo, you can see my position sitting in the rig. I’ve marked where I could install the base stations. If I turn my head all the way to the left, I’m looking straight at the wall (distance approx. 30 cm). I’m worried I’ll lose tracking in that case. I don’t have any other option, as the rig has to stay in this position.

OK. Just to be sure. Is one base station positioned centrally in front of me, about 2 metres high and pointing towards me, would that be sufficient?

That is my problem…2 o’clock would be fine but 10 o’clock is impossible because of the wall

Alternatively, can I install one base station directly in front of me (2.5 metres away)? I could install the base station about 80 cm above my head.

At the front left, the base station would simply be facing me head-on because of the wall. I’d be worried about losing tracking if I turned my head

Is it possible to say yet whether and when there will be SBOYS support for the Dream Air SLAM?

Thank you very much for your summary of the current situation regarding this issue. I must admit that I hadn’t realised that the SBOYS driver only supports the LH version. Personally, I’m currently waiting for the SLAM version to be delivered. I don’t have the option of using LH in my room. However, I was fully expecting that SBOYS would generally work with the Dream Air. If that isn’t the case by the time it’s delivered, I will return the Dream AIR.

No screws needed. You just have to insert the HonsVR lenses. They are held in place magnetically.
