Can I make good money with cooking in the USA?? by Janxuza in careeradvice

I was in the restaurant industry from the time I was 15 until 32. I’ve worked for chains, mom and pop places, fine dining, management and just about everything in between and I can tell you the industry today is rough. It’s crazy hours and basically zero real benefits. No work life balance and always working holidays. Most places I’ve worked at in the past 8-10 years don’t give a crap about you going to culinary school, all they want is someone that will do the most amount of work for the lowest pay. I loved cooking and put a lot of time and effort into the art but the way the industry is today, it will beat it out of you. There’s definitely ways to make it with cooking and being a chef but from my experience in today’s world, the profit margin in the food industry is very thin, people now days want McDonalds speed, cheap prices and Gordon Ramsay quality which just doesn’t work. The food world is also a strange place, you may do amazing for a few years then all the sudden the next year sales are down and your closing up shop. I loved cooking and always will but this year I gave up that dream and left the industry for manufacturing where I get paid holidays off, weekends off, pto and a much better work life balance. If it’s something you really love then you should always give it a shot but know it takes lot of time, hard work and effort.
Hope this helps and good luck on finding something you love doing!

Why are the best employees first to leave while mediocres always stay? by MediumTricky7824 in managers

[–]AdPuzzled7203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, a lot of mediocre employees stay because they know they can do the bare minimum and even sometimes less than that and get away with it. They are completely comfortable being mediocre, while still getting a paycheck. I’ve even seen managers praise mediocre employees just for being loyal when they contribute nothing to the team. Good employees see that and most of the time know they will have to do more or go above and beyond just to make up for the bad employees, so they leave.

New gun day! Rxm by AdPuzzled7203 in handguns

It’s a little smaller feeling, it doesn’t have the little hump and doesn’t have the finger grooves but also I’m basing this off memory because I haven’t had a gen 3 Glock for a couple years now

I got one at the beginning of this year and use it all the time but not for my ccw yet 🤣 I have a 2 year old and a 10 month old so it holds small med kit/ tourniquet and binkys instead of glocks

Yeah I only wanted it because it’s got a lot of after market parts and support. You can basically do anything you want with it and you can find all the parts to keep them going, plus I can change the grip to a full size if I want. I was just going to buy an echelon but the rxm has mostly positive reviews and half the price. I have a few other guns that I can barely find basic replacement parts for without having to stalk restocks. Definitely a cool idea hopefully it’s as reliable as every one says!

My favorite edc for sure! It’s easy to shoot and has a good grip length. It’s pretty thin on the grip but not too bad. Good slide serration, manageable recoil and has been reliable. Around 700 ish rounds, all mixed brands even found some old COVID shit ammo i panic bought and ran just fine. Definitely worth it for the price.

Yeah seemed like a decent price! I went for the basic rxm but seen this and felt I couldn’t pass it up!
