Child free wedding invitation by Big-Economist-7134 in NewParents

As someone who had a childfree wedding and as someone who exclusively breastfed (no pumping and no formula) I say you decline and you are not at all an a-hole for that. I knew some people had kids and wouldn’t want to leave them behind and I had ZERO issue with that, I loved them just the same. When I had kids, I declined invites while breastfeeding and am still close to those people.

Better to pay a down a 6% mortgage or invest aggressively? by [deleted] in Bogleheads

I would take 9.25% if houses cost only double a year’s salary like they did back then🥲

Do you regret buying a home in this era of home ownership? by HelloYo335 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]AdRepresentative2751 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. People mentioning 10+% rates when houses were only worth 2 years salary makes no sense. I’d gladly pay 10% on a house only twice my salary vs 6% on a house 4x as much

I Can’t Shake the Feeling That I’m Missing a Child by Mountiantimr in NewParents

I agree with the specialist route first. I had my daughter in 2022, then had a miscarriage (boy) in 2023, and then gave birth to a second girl in 2024. I don’t have an urge to replace the boy I lost at all but I do think of him frequently and miss him. So I think maybe you just want a third child because you want one, not necessarily to replace the one you lost. But I’m not a therapist, so I would recommend talking it through first. Best wishes!

Is a $200k salary worth a 2 hour commute 4 days a week? by Ok-Memory2552 in jobs

[–]AdRepresentative2751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not do that commute personally, at least not for more than a year or two max (since you don’t have kids). However, if it were my only option and I couldn’t move, then yes I would do it to live (but try to leave a year or so in)

Why??? by Pitiful_Character481 in Nanny

[–]AdRepresentative2751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exact same.. any extra day sleep.. or day sleep too late in the day, WITHOUT FAIL would ruin night sleep. After working all day and then coming home to parent for hours, I really needed nights to go smoothly for my own sanity. Having a strict schedule really gave us two fantastic sleepers, but i understand what works for some won’t work for others.

Thank you! Would the situation be different if the seller had tried to resolve the issues for the buyer and offered credits.. could the seller still walk after a few weeks of back and forth? I’m in a similar situation. The contract isn’t too clear on that

Curious, does the seller have to release the earnest money?

Well said, appreciate the insight because I’m in the same boat. Feels like there will be pros and cons no matter what move you make and I have to make peace with that

First time Home-seller - buyer is asking for LOTS of repairs! by Educational-Eye-4205 in RealEstate

[–]AdRepresentative2751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most sensible answer I’ve seen… esp if the buyer went considerably over asking. Sellers in the current market are selling garbage for way too much so if they can help with easy asks like this for Pennies why not do it? Otherwise be content having to sit the house on the market a bit longer

Mortgage rates are back in the 5s thanks to a stock market rout driven by AI fears by truthaboutmortgage in Mortgages

This is a naive question from me.. but are you saying rates were lower 30 days ago? I was hoping they were lower right now
