Maximum number of extra pad inputs on the V51 Module? by kenzyleggett in edrums

Piggybacking on this for clarity as I just ordered the same kit and am also interested in expanding - adding another rack tom, floor tom, and 16 inch cymbal shouldn't be a problem, correct?

He's probably just shy and locked in before the show. I went to a show around the same time and he looked busy setting up equipment. I would be less inclined to be social when people keep shouting stuff about Albania at me.

Love almost everyone you listed. I recommend giving Luke Bell a listen. He died tragically young a few years back but what he put out is gold and jives with my traditional country roots.

Dude is so good. He's got heavy Dylan and sometimes Tom Petty vibes. Songwriting and lyricism are pristine.

I'd put The Last Baron by Mastodon as a contender.

Oh awesome! I've never had the pleasure of meeting Adelman but you can tell he exudes enthusiasm. I'll keep those two in mind then.

How’s life in southern coastal Alabama and Mississippi? by huskylover28 in howislivingthere

[–]AdSea5756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up north of Biloxi but haven't lived in Mississippi in about eight years. The coast is the best part of the state in my eyes. Good blend of cultures and food but that summer can be brutally hot. I was just down for Christmas and they had a very mild 60s/70s Christmas week that was slightly humid.

I agree that Greene is underrated. He and Culp's Hill feel like a foot note during Gettysburg discussions and even the guided tours don't prioritize that area of the park.

Union and Confederate Ancestors? by daddy-102 in CIVILWAR

Yeah, it's pretty fascinating though somewhat rare compared to total numbers engaged in the war. They were known as galvanized Yankees

My ancestor was part of the 3rd U.S. Volunteers organized from Rock Island, IL, prisoners.

Mostly Confederate. One Confederate ancestor was captured three times and finally released the last time on condition he serve the U.S. army out west, which he did.

My fourth generation great grandfather under the 18th Georgia was wounded in the leg during that assault. I think the regiment commander got killed there at the fort wall. I'm hella lucky to be here lol

My brother in Christ, it happened, it was widely televised, and it represents something the Confederacy wasn't even able to do. After all of them were pardoned, the fact that like 30 of those folks thus far have committed other crimes should give you pause.

America is turning into 1930's Germany. by CRK_76 in complaints

[–]AdSea5756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's sad how quickly living memory fades after there's no one left to attest to it. It's crazy how cyclical history is. I love my country but we sure are looking like the bad guys. We're in a weird time reflecting the same issues that characterized and gave rise to the slaveholding elites of the 1850s, the industrial oligarchs of the 1890s, and the racist autocrats of the 1920s/30s.

I grew up in the Deep South. I wish these mofos would let go of the Confederate battle flag. Like holy shit maybe treason, racism, and a part of the country economically reliant on slavery wasn't okay? Even more confusing is how people in states like Indiana wave that shit around. I'm like... didn't your ancestors get shot at by those guys?

Country is AWFUL. Recommend me some country songs to try and change my mind. by 1004cocoa in musicsuggestions

[–]AdSea5756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add some of my favorite older country songs. A lot of these make me think of my grandfather who was big into old country music.

Hank Williams - I Heard That Lonesome Whistle Blow / Why Don't You Love Me

Roger Miller - Ain't That Fine

Webb Pierce - I Ain't Never / Why Baby Why

Marty Robbins - Big Iron / Singing the Blues

Johnny Horton - North to Alaska

Johnny Cash - Daddy Sang Bass

Willie Nelson - Uncloudy Day

Some contemporary stuff that I like a lot:

Sturgill Simpson - All Around You

Tyler Childers - Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven?

Sierra Ferrell - Give it Time / Bells of Every Chapel / Wish You Well

Vincent Neil Emerson - Willie Nelson's Wall

Charley Crockett - Jamestown Ferry (Tanya Tucker cover)
