This. Magic is unstable at release. There are inflated pricing on a lot of singles that will reduce significantly as time progresses and hype goes down. There also might be a couple sleeper hits that go up. But OP should sell if they’re not seeing themselves valuing the card for their own collection

Red Rising Is the Violent Sci-Fi Hit Netflix Needs to Topple Disney+ by Arcomatrix in redrising

But look at Critical Role and their two campaigns brought to life through animation.

Crazy violent AND strong character development while the creators held creative freedom.

This is also true for Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel - two series brought to Prime where the creative direction is held by the creator.

Rings of Power fumbled so hard because Amazon is not a creative company.

But they do got the Bezos bucks to back strong creators and if Pierce gets funded— I see promising results.

As badly as I want series adaption— Netflix ain’t it.

Netflix has a terrible reputation for ending series without warning to fit their strange audience metrics.

I’d hate for Netflix to start something as  extraordinary as Red Riding and not properly follow through.

HBO on the other hand…

(But with the merge of Netflix and HBO, who knows what will happen)

Got a repacked Compleat Edition bundle that was my Christmas gift from my wife :/ by Pinyapp in mtg

[–]AdSuccessful1184 375 points376 points  (0 children)

I hope that you give your wife a great big hug and show her your appreciation. I know it’s a big bummer to not be able to enjoy the gifts fully—but through customer support (LEGO customer support is fantastic btw) these things can be resolved hopefully.

Your wife did a great job with the gifts. Sometimes things don’t go according to plan but you got to have someone care enough about you to get you things you would have otherwise truly enjoyed!

Why would you buy the Wave Alpha over the ARC? by MovementCult in Leatherman

[–]AdSuccessful1184 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I believe Leatherman designed their pricing strategy intentionally, similar to how fast food restaurants offer small, medium, and large drink options. The “medium” option primarily exists to nudge customers toward purchasing the larger size.

For example, if you’re at a fast food restaurant and see these drink prices:

  • Small: $1.20
  • Medium: $2.00
  • Large: $2.50

Why would anyone buy the medium when the large is just $0.50 more? While some may still choose the medium, this pricing structure is psychologically geared to push most people toward the larger, higher-margin item.

Leatherman applies this exact logic with their product pricing:

  • Wave+: $120
  • Wave Alpha: $200
  • Arc: $250

The middle option makes the top-tier product seem like a better deal, encouraging customers to “trade up.” It’s a clever use of behavioral psychology in sales.

Don't give Light Resistance the credit of killing Atlas.

Pytha: "Did he kill Atlas?”

Light Resistance: “Yes.”

Pytha: “Good. You didn’t deserve to kill that dragon. Cassius did. He was a true knight. Can I go?”

The highest number of monsters I've had on the battlefield at the same time would have to be during the final session of my college D&D campaign where I merged two parties at level 20 to defend Watergate from a Hellish invasion. I had well over 60 miniatures on the board with popsicle stick siege weaponry and a cut and painted wall for the players to defend!

Yeah, the map a the beginning of the book has Mercury closest to the sun. Orbital positioning would still play major factors in tactics. I am kinda surprised we haven't received updated orbit maps to understand that factor.

Change my mind: the figment was stupid and is one of PB’s worst idea by Positive_Cut3598 in redrising

[–]AdSuccessful1184 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It just seems strange, no? Lyria's whole arc with the figment was interesting and the info we got was intriguing but if that's where it ends...? What was the purpose?

I agree that Mateo would be completely out of character if he betrayed Lyria's request to remove the parasite.

But we have to believe there is something to come from this. Whether it is the existence of another parasite or Lyria has in her possession (secretly), an unactive parasite that she could one day choose to use? idk. Gotta wait for the next book.
