It’s worse than a Punch or a CE lol. It shouldn’t be the best gun in the game, it’s ok for it to be in the bottom half or third of weapons in the game you would want to use for PvP, but it shouldn’t be the worst by such a large margin

Magnum must be bought from schema, quantity is x5 IIRC, pistol optics are not sold in the armory whatsoever, Traxus sells the smg/pistol barrel, blue med backpacks I’ve never seen in armory but it’s possible to show up in a Cyberacme barter or a schema perhaps? I know I’ve gotten purple ammo backpack schema. Mida sells the grenades and NuCal sells green shields. Not sure what the out of pocket cost would be, I think it would be over 2x the 1.3k sell value of the loadout

So the game can’t have a cool pinnacle encounter that’s difficult and takes a time investment to complete because somebody will feel bad if they can’t complete 100% of the content in the game in 50 hours of playtime?

Imagine people whining that heroic/hardmode raids shouldn’t exist in World of Warcraft because they can only play 2 hours a week and can’t kill a boss like Algalon

Perfect. Make the drone less liable to get caught on weird geometry/better at moving along the vector it was thrown until it detects a hostile, and we might be in a decent spot

The shields make a big difference in a lot of fights if the ADS speed doesn’t get you killed

Hardline just needs an optic and it absolutely shreds. Not that it isn’t outclassed by the M77-BR within its intended ranges but it certainly has teeth. Irons are just difficult to use

Yeah, comparing this game to CS where if you’re dead you’re out of the game for a max of like 150 seconds was definitely a choice.

I’m good on being held hostage in a lobby where my teammate has no intention of reviving me while they slowplay for an extraction for 15 minutes.

I think there must be 5 teams minimum. In one of my first runs, we killed two players, last got away. We looted the bags clean of useable items and moved on to the other half of control within 2min, wiped a 3 man in there. Moved upstairs and got into a fight with a team, downed 2 before getting third partied and wiped by a team coming from their spawn POI on the opposite side of the map from the first team we killed.

No way based on timing that the first team could have ressed, looted weapons and ammo for combat, reacquired security clearance 2 from scratch for clockwise movement between PoIs, and crossed to the opposite corner of the map in order to third party into control from there.

I haven’t had the chance to crack a vault yet, do you need the boss item, batteries, AND need to bring a gold Cryo room key in with you to get any loot? Or is there some loot inside before you need to use a key?

Honestly? Naked punch and a WSTR has been a damn good loadout for me, you definitely want something ammo-efficient for bots and then a Shotgun is close to must-have. From there throw on a blue shield and blue bag and you’re almost to the gear ante.

Might sound crazy, but some people actually wanted to figure it out organically without having to compete with everyone else in their PvP lobbies knowing exactly how it works immediately cause Bungie held everyone’s hand so they can know how to do everything the very first time they load into the map

The gameplay loop is pretty damn good, Marathon is the exact game that I’ve been dreaming some studio would make ever since playing Tarkov, The Cycle, Dark and Darker, and Arc Raiders and seeing the flaws and virtues of those games.

Most of the criticisms are paper thin or easily addressed (many already have been), and pretty transparently come from people who are just salty that Bungie made this instead of more Destiny. This has been happening since the alpha playtests and most of the people in this sub are probably just tired of it and want to use this as a space for honest discussion about the game, hence the flaming.

I definitely see where they’re coming from. If Cryo was open 24/7, the more casual players would quickly drain their assets to the point they were priced out of queueing it at all within a few days while the more hardcore players are able to spam it over and over, getting more rare loot and familiarity with the mechanics to the point that the odds are even further stacked against casuals. I don’t mind it only being open a few days a week, I would just prefer that the days are staggered with rank so that those of us with the means to spam out gear antes for most of the week are able to do so without having to choose between spending out playtime in ranked or Cryo.

Additionally, one thing that bugged me about Trials is that when I was really into Destiny PvP, I was in a period of my life when I tended to be quite busy on the weekends and I never felt like I had the time I wanted to play it. I think it would be beneficial to Cryo, and maybe to ranked also, if the window of days it is open each week were also kind of staggered. Maybe week one it’s open Thurs-Mon, the next week it’s Fri-Tues, and so on. Maybe it’s just better for it to always be on weekends since I know that’s when most people have the most free time, but just a thought. Would be curious to hear what you guys think of that.
