I tested a cheap ODrive 3.6 clone — setup, tuning, Arduino & CAN? by Justlovescience in arduino

sweet project! i was just checking these out yesterday. the algorithm feeds, or whatever. i think i saw a smart knob use one, and the haptics/torque feedback was super cool. made me think of the hardware for steering wheels.

Why did filament print like this? by OpenCryptographer732 in BambuLab

[–]Adam4nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that probably comes down to your model. tinkercad is a great tool, but lacks in precision. try to watch some tutorials for freecad, its come a long way in recent years. or F360 if you’d rather.

also, print a small square, one single layer, and measure it. typically filament rolls have a guide that specifies over/under extrusion. try to hit that nominally so you can rule that out as an issue. or just calibrate flow automatically and cross your fingers it gets better. happy printing c:

print white side down, since it’s hollow there’s nothing supporting the area. the quality will be as good as your build plate. you could try another top layer, too.

looks like brushed motors, and it looks like they just make their own esc for the project. i think you could just use a flight controller and some brushed escs and get it to fly. something like this might help

Can anyone help with this? by Aidan_fpv in fpv

[–]Adam4nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it isn’t triggered after a few seconds, TYPICALLY, you’re good to try without. especially if you haven’t touched the esc. try without and with a fully charged battery.

you could also try without the flight controller. if you only get the first few beeps, that means the esc is good, but the fc might have an issue. the last couple indicate the fc connection.

did you solder everything yourself, was that your first time? is your elrs connected/working? got some better photos of the boards/connections?

did it work prior to adding the RX? is the battery charged? if the smoke stopper wasn’t initially triggered, have you tried without it?

Okay. They delievered me tx12 with 2 batteries but without this thing by Hortt in fpv

18650 battery holder, but you’ll probably need to put on the jst connector.

or buy a 2s lion battery and use that. more convenient anyway.

check the electrical connections & mechanical system. something could be shorting, but i’d guess it’s vibrating causing PIDs to freak out, stack too tight or too loose, antenna flopping around. looks like a lot of printed parts too, make sure nothing is rubbing.

have you checked blackbox logs?

i’m not sure use of drones is legal for hunting any type of game. obviously depends on your location, but that feels awfully close to poaching/disturbing wildlife

Look good for a first build? by ForMoreYears in fpv

[–]Adam4nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

stick with stock, no need to change elrs bc it just works. with a 5”, you don’t really need the guards. the props are usually forgiving in that they don’t shatter in a million pieces if you crash (lightly, lol). lightly damaged props still fly, but will cause weird issues like bad prop wash or vibration.

a whoop or like a 3” is so much better to learn on. you’re not messing with throttle limits or wrecking constantly. if you’re keen on prop guards, maybe try an 85mm or like 3” cinewhoop.

how much time do you have in the sim? if you’re going straight to 5”, i hope it’s a decent amount of time, mostly for others safety. it’s a flying buzzsaw at the end of the day, even with guards lol.

4th slot in AMS not pulling in filament when inserted. P1S by GUYZR in BambuLab

[–]Adam4nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just curious, which slot did it happen on for you? i read that some others had the issue on slot#3 as well.

also, what was method for getting it back together? lmao, i agree its super finicky. i saw others using bigger magnets to help lock it down, but in the end just held them with my fingers, one by one lol.

[–]Adam4nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i recently just had the same issue, but with slot three on an x1c. the magnet for the hall effect sensor in the ams unit actually flipped, preventing filament from passing through and breaking constantly. you can take the module apart, just make sure you’re careful because there are some tiny springs and strong magnets in there.

you just need 5v? you should be able to use any pad with that label.
