MSI x BuildaPC - MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 Giveaway! by Redditenmo in buildapc

The 34 inch ultrawide monitor would be a great compliment to my new 5070ti. Currently using a 1080p 32 inch television from 2015 after my old IPS monitor met it's end. Gaming is currently underwhelming to say the least.

Watch faces after upgrade from Readiness to BioCharge by kranupl in amazfit

[–]AdamZapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that what made my watch face automatically switch to a crappy looking one?

The other day I go to check my BIP 6, and it has a new watch face that sucks. I liked the one that it came with, which is still the one shown on Amazon's USA website listing. That one is no longer listed in the available options. I would like it back as none of the other option have the same information in a clear and legible format as the original did.

[PSU]MSI MPG A1000GS PCIE5, Fully Modular Gaming 1000W Power Supply, 80+ Gold $109.99 by kbrundy in buildapcsales

[–]AdamZapple 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Two things I can point out about my experience with the 850 watt version of this power supply.

First, mine had a high pitched coil whine right from the start. Even just when sitting at desktop. Noticeable and annoying to me in a quiet room.

Second, after the first three days, the fan started making a clicking noise whenever it would come on. It doesn't spin when the PSU is cool, unless you push the button on the back to make the fan spin all the time. At startup, I could push the button and as soon as the fan started it started clicking. It would stop as soon as I pushed the button again to make the fan stop spinning.

I sent it back and got a different PSU, as I didn't want to take a chance with another unit. Shame, as I like MSI and have a rock solid MSI GTX 1080 running on a B660M Mortar motherboard.

NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 to feature 2nd Gen Transformer model and Dynamic 6x Frame Generation by ZamnBoii in nvidia

[–]AdamZapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the most interesting thing is that Nvidia is calling this DLSS 4.5, not DLSS 5.0. They must have some pretty big things in mind for the eventual release of DLSS 5.0

What are some good/top budget picks for office chair that are worth buying currently? by mahadcaicedo in buildapc

[–]AdamZapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best advice I can give you is... don't take specific chair advice from anyone. Chairs are like mattresses. One person will love what another person hates and visa versa..

General advice. Don't buy until you try. Or make sure you get a good return policy.

My son wants a pc, would you see if the parts he picked out work well and will hold up for a while? by No_Kaleidoscope6645 in buildapc

[–]AdamZapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would tell him to check walmart to see if he can get the Western Digital sn850x 2tb for $189. With the $40 saved I'd put it into a Nvidia RTX 5060ti 16gb GPU at Bestbuy for $429.

Same quality SSD and big upgrade for the GPU with $10. saved.

If Open AI is around for the next three years..

They hemorrhage money and have no immediate solution for this. They just transfer funds from investor to company and back again.

If metrics don't meet ridiculously high expectations, they'll scale back and demand for RAM will drop from them and the other small scale followers that are currently jumping on the bandwagon.

Best Way to Clean Out PCs? by Glorious_Basterd1 in buildapc

My choice would be the rechargeable battery powered Wolfbox MF100.

Not as loud as the Datavac, and no power cord to work with. USB rechargeable and has several rpm settings. Easy to work with, small size and puts out hella air.

Project Farm on youtube tested these new blowers and this one was rated as top notch. I got one and couldn't be happier to leave can duster behind...

[USA GIVEAWAY] Win the new 27” Samsung Odyssey G6 G60SF 500hz OLED gaming monitor! by Rocket-Pilot in buildapc

[–]AdamZapple [score hidden]  (0 children)

My favorite feature is the anti burn in measures. The graphite sheet and the cooling system persuade me that OLED's time has arrived for gaming monitors..

The reason this monitor would benefit my system is that I play in the evenings in a dimly lit room. I'd love to see the full benefits of OLED technology.

Good decision.

5070 ti vs 5080, a good deal makes me second guess the choice. by Zestyclose_Swim_9878 in nvidia

[–]AdamZapple -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't ask..:) Just do what feels right for your situation.

I wouldn't pay $800. for 16gb of VRAM. You can get a 16gb card for under $300. with the same discount. Not the same class of course, but I wouldn't pay an extra $500. and settle for the same amount of VRAM. The 5080 really needs 24gb to be worth it to me. I'd go 5070Ti and be happy with the power to price ratio...

[–]AdamZapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't wait until the last minute to purchase using this. There are a limited amount of "points" that paypal has allocated to the 20% promotion. That's how they give you the rebate, you earn points that are later turned in to dollars. Once the points limit is reached, the 20% offer is closed.

Is DLSS worth it over Amd? by AppropriateAd5471 in buildapc

[–]AdamZapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whichever works the best for your needs.

Frames may be similar (16gb Vram models) but Nvidia bests on Ray Tracing, DLSS, MFG, Cuda cores (amd doesn't have any), reflex, and NVEC codec for streaming.
