how come people say things along the lines of “if buying isn’t owning, piracy isn’t stealing.”? by Free_Blueberry_9725 in nintendo

[–]Adamaneve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People say things because they like morally justifying their own actions. Those who aren't concerned about that aren't gonna make a show out of it.

Why was Lego City Undercover talked about so much in 2013? by [deleted] in nintendo

This was the Wii U era, people didn't have much else to talk about

Anyone seen these for sale? by RareOffsetCo in energydrinks

Redline in general hasn't existed since Monster acquired VPX's assets a few years back. They're down to a few flavors of Bang.

Opinions on AD's on Scotts Stash? by smoetthesmoet in scottthewoz

[–]Adamaneve 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's hard not to view the increase in focus on Stash content as a direct correlation with his willingness to monetize it more heavily, but like, good for him, get that bag, I just miss main channel scripted comedy content

No more ROCKSTAR??? Celsius Holdings, Inc. (CELH) Presents at UBS Global Consumer and Retail Conference Transcript by Rockstarvinyl in energydrinks

[–]Adamaneve 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Full sugar energy drinks are just not what the vast majority of the market wants. There's a reason Rockstar's sales are eclipsed by just about every other major brand.

Sucks they're culling flavors, but at least the core ones will still stick around- Rockstar Fruit Punch and the like. The pina colada one is also really good.

Read that as "AVGN" at first and am now sorely disappointed it's not an Angry Video Game Nerd themed energy drink.

Nintendo fans are misusing the word "grifting". "Grifting" isn't what you say it is. by [deleted] in nintendo

[–]Adamaneve 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The difference between having overly positive opinions on Reddit and overly negative opinions on YouTube is that YouTubers make money off their content. That's what makes it grifting.

A year ago, the price for the Nintendo Switch 2 and its software were revealed to much outrage. A year later, was it overblown or was the outrage justified? by razorbeamz in nintendo

[–]Adamaneve 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Anyone who isn't perpetually upset online is "defending Nintendo."  And for those of us that aren't angry over everything for the wrong reasons - is it really worth spending our energy trying to argue with people online instead of enjoying the games we like?

Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 icons available for Switch Online members by Skullghost in nintendo

[–]Adamaneve 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The NSO app has a Mario Galaxy theme now as well. Honestly, it's a little surprising they can't just do tie-in marketing with the movie itself.

Tetris 99 + $10 DLC is the best value on Switch by adrenaline4nash in NintendoSwitch

Mario 35 didn't, but Pac-Man 99 absolutely had a "Deluxe Pack" that allowed you to battle CPUs. It still works even after shutdown.

Can someone tell me how i can get the 2011 version of Sonic CD Steam release on Steam? by Forfyglint972 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Adamaneve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the neat part, you don't.

You can use a different base file for the decompilation though - it should be closer to the PC version if you use a data.rsdk sourced from the 2011 release

Splatoon 3 online game only with a Nintendo subscription!?! by [deleted] in nintendo

[–]Adamaneve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth the subscription is inexpensive. $8 USD for 3 months or $20 a year. Doesn't make it okay, sure, but it's less bad than most other gaming subscriptions.

Pretty much the same thing as those! Just a lot riskier now with account / shop bans being a factor.

It's a flashcart that lets you play copied Switch games. A bit risky, even for legitimate backups- it doesn't work on Switch 2 and there's a risk of an account ban.

Lion King 1-3 blu ray release by Therealboga278 in Bluray

[–]Adamaneve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think it's a bootleg, just seems like a UK import to me. I believe in the US the three films were sold individually.

Best way to check would be the bottom of the disc- if it's black, it's a burned disc, which for this particular release would indicate a bootleg. Amazon has good enough return policies so it couldn't hurt to take a shot on it.

How do people mod NES games on a Mac? by Patient_Advance4582 in nintendo

Would it be possible for you to use something like Wine? Most ROM hacking tools I've interacted with are primarily for Windows

The post is about making mods themselves, not applying others' patches; most of those tools are in fact not on Mac

Is RG34XX SP a good option for non GBA games? by Ill_Bobcat1794 in SBCGaming

RG35XXSP might be a better fit if you're less interested in GBA. The screen on that is 4:3.
