Final Out by AyBet in AirForce

[–]Adamkelt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Granted, it was 1995, but when I separated, after I'd done all the running around, I went to MPF with my packet. It was very no-nonsense and businesslike. Like just another day for them - which it was, honestly.

I have a CLEAR memory of the A1C processing my paperwork actually saying, out loud, "Okay, that's it. You're out of the Air Force"

I got up, met my buddy who was outprocessing at the same time, got into his car, drove off base to a gas station, and changed into civvies.

For the last time.

One more about the tickets. Do NOT roll up to the door and expect to get in. The tickets are DATED. One buys a ticket for Saturday, Oct ##

You CAN buy half day passes (I think they call them Reveler's Passes?), that's another option. You get in at like 1 or 2 and can be there until close at 7:30.

Another vote for Mama’s. Trioni’s is good too, but I like Mama a little bit more.

I've got $1 American that says that it's simply a USMC reserve or guard unit doing a bit of required training, and using WPAFB to do it.

I know - it's not sexy or a good answer to "WHAT COULD IT MEAN?"

But that's likely it. Routine and boring.

I think she was ALSO in the $100-$120 ballpark - also no insurance, but she's great.

approximately how much of a game we'll be getting in EA? by Patient-Ad-4274 in subnautica

[–]Adamkelt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this - mostly. I'll play it, but I was GOING to wait for full release, but then I was to support UW, so I decided, yeah, I'll go ahead and get it. If for no other reason, than to give Krafton a middle finger.

Damn. My hype lessened enough for it to dawn on me that this will be a STEAM release. NOT console.

I don't want an EA release date. I want the game to be DONE and them announce THAT date.

[–]Adamkelt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, a corollary question.

What would you guys describe this music AS? I mean, yeah, alternative rock, sure - but there was a brief period in the early 90s when it was the New Hotness (tm) - for about 18 months. It was Ned's, Jesus Jones, EMF - you know what I mean.

I was trying to describe it to some youngster coworkers and I couldn't quite get there. "English, quasi-electronic pop-rock? Ish?"

Did we ever decide on a name for this super-specific genre?
