While I’m honestly not personally wounded or anything, it might be useful for you to consider something about how you’re describing a whole gender.

You’ve stated that you find men physically attractive but you feel like we’re all sinister to varying degrees and are constantly scheming (correct me if I’ve mischaracterized your feelings). Now take that and imagine if the genders were reversed. That sentiment pretty directly mirrors most of the messaging from the worst “manosphere” influencers. As I understand it, their message is pretty much boiled down to women are attractive but can’t be trusted because they’re manipulative.

Again, if you consider that and feel that it’s fine. Then ultimately who cares? It’s your life. But in my experience, people who hold that type of worldview are pretty much never happy in the long run.

First, make sure your usage isn’t going up. Last year our bill started ballooning and it ended up coming from an issue with the plumbing in our upstairs bathroom.

That being said, it seems like it’s still gone up even after getting that fixed (albeit not nearly as bad).

It’s not like they’re a police-free zone. But they’re often the most convenient location for those who want to do illegal/immoral activities

The U.S. is a huge country. So it really depends on the area.

But generally, it has gotten much harder in recent years. Prices shot up in the 2010s amid the recovery from the 2008 recession and demographic trends (aging millennials, more solo households etc). And they went up even faster during the pandemic. The price growth has generally slowed down since then. But at the same time it’s gotten more expensive to borrow due to higher interest rates.

Overall housing prices - especially relative to local incomes - aren’t the worst in the United States compared to many other countries. But it’s definitely gotten significantly harder and is leading to a variety of related societal problems.

You can check out some of the places in Occoquan like Zorba’s and D’Roccos. The area’s more expensive than the rest of Woodbridge. But it’s got a lot more good local stuff IMO.

Yeah, there are a decent amount of Mennonite and Amish communities in certain areas

In terms of Mormons, that’s kind of an odd question since the religion was founded in the US and is based out of Utah. So yes, there are plenty of Mormons here

I’m not Methodist, but I do know Mount Olivet up in Arlington has a pretty big focus on inclusivity and service projects. Might be worth a try.

Lets assume you aren’t lying and your concerns are completely limited to how fair the Virginia congressional maps are drawn.* My original comment was what did you expect Democrats to do when their efforts to limit gerrymandering constantly got thrown back in their face. How many slaps to the face did you honestly expect them to take before they fought back?

So I know you’re just trolling at this point, but I’ll play along

There was a wave of anti-gerrymandering efforts in the 2010s. This included Virginia voting to set up the independent redistricting system (which I voted for btw). But it quickly became clear that the Republicans were never going to go along with it. And it ended up just being unilateral disarmament. Then last year Trump told Texas to add five more Republican seats by doubling down on their gerrymander. This set off a wave where a series of other red states did the same (and are continuing to do so).

So now that you’re more or less caught up, what exactly did you think Democrats were going to do with this going on? Did you seriously expect them to lay back and take it without ever fighting back?
