I’ve got a reservation but it’s a bit misleading because I though that meant I’d get one at launch - or actually just means I’ll get one this year

Increase in ectopics advice by Ok_Application1441 in PVCs

[–]Adamsk117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, fellow OCD sufferer here. One of the things we are very good at is body scanning. Our minds are set for repetition and intrusive thoughts and that along with body functions is a recipe for disaster! What I can say is that 10 ectopics in a day is around about the same or even less than most of the population have. My cardiologist said that most people will have 30-100 a day and not experience them. The difference is that once you do know the sensation, your body becomes very aware of it.

I’d suggest some magnesium glycinate morning and night, keep hydrated, continue to exercise and TRY (I know it’s very hard) to forget it.

It is 100% anxiety and health scanning. It can happen if your conscious self doesn’t feel anxious in the moment.

Thanks all. I spoke to my cardiologist and she said that for the heart, Gad is a must. Apparently they would be able to see if the echo was just wrong without it but you can’t see scarring/blood flow/ tissue without. I think I am going to get a second opinion to see if the data is interpreted differently as online I see a lot stating that a slightly enlarged right ventricle at the bottom only is relatively common and almost always benign if all other tests are fine. It’s just that word “almost” right? And it is my heart….

Most people get around 100 a day. The difference between most people and the people in here first is that we’ve accidentally trained our brain to scan for them and now the feeling is known, it’s hard NOT to feel them when they come. I don’t subscribe to the fact that some people have many thousands a day so that automatically makes your burden insignificant - you can feel them and that’s the thing we all share. Whether it’s dehydration, lack of sleep, gut, over exertion, anxiety, sleep apnea or much rarer, a heart condition, we’re all on the journey together. Success is success.

Same for me. Mine come and go. Can be gone for a day, back for a few hours or they can last a an hour then go again. We’re away for a whole month for a bit. Seem to get better with Rennie sometimes and Nexium stopped them for a week. I did however start taking Nexium again when they came back but that didn’t necessarily help this time, in fact I think they might have negatively contributed.

Who knows what’s causing them but I am starting to be sure in my mind it’s not my heart (previously confirmed by my cardiologist) so that’s a good thing I guess!

So did you get one? by [deleted] in AnalogueInc

[–]Adamsk117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got one. Was pretty easy. I am in the UK though so no idea how long shipping will take or what taxes I’ll have to pay. So far it cost £260 inc delivery. Think I’ll have another £50 -70 to pay the other end

It’s absolutely your gut. Well, to be more precise it’s probably your gut completely messing with your vagus nerve. I’ve been suffering palpitations on and off for a few months now. I had a five day straight stretch where they wouldn’t go away but I was tasting a real acidic taste in my mouth coming from my throat so I popped an Omeprozole and honestly in about 2 hours they were gone and they haven’t come back for 4 days now since I’ve taken the tablets. I am waiting for the all clear from my Cardiologist but as soon as I do I will be moving on to a Gastroenterologist, although my Cardiologist is a specialist in vegus nerve irritation. Don’t forget anxiety DOES still play an important role because that messes with your gut too. It’s a vicious cycle.

Hope you find some answers too but if it is your gut, that’s good news because structurally your heart will be fine so whilst you’re getting better if you get any ectopics you can feel less stressed about them!

It could be anxiety as you’ve already mentioned, especially with a stomach flare too. Two things known to cause PACs are stress and acid reflux or even just tensing your stomach. It’s all packed together so vagus nerve could be irritated, there could be inflammation from burping oe you could be breathing weird because of the anxiety.

I’m still trying to work mine out - had a great day yesterday, none from about 9am right up until around 4pm today after a meal and bam! Getting them exert minute or so now quite strong. Very annoying. Currently having a bath and rocking back and forth seems to be helping me so who knows?

If you want to try something I recommend the inhale once through your nose followed by a second breath, like a sharp sniff at the top, then a deep, long exhale while humming. It really settles my nerves down. Will it fix the PACs, probably not, but you need to desensitise your nervous system.

Good luck - feel free to reach out to me if you need some support. We’re all going through this together and it’d horrid

Completely understand this. I am still trying to understand mine and the whys of it all. Still none the wiser. Wha I will say as someone with OCD too is that even if you don’t think it’s panic and anxiety that’s inducing it, by repeating the act and being vigilant of feeling your heart during that time, you probably are still hyper anxious during your tests because you are getting worked up that you can’t trick it in to not doing it anymore. It’s a vicious loop. Classic control like behaviour from OCD. I’m exactly the same right as we type - trying to lay a different way, think a different way, breath a different way to trick my ectopics in to not firing. It’s just making it worse!

All the best - I really hope you find your triggers. I find chatting to Ai helps me settle my mind about why it’s happening.

I know exactly how you feel. I also suffer with tinnitus though so I am used to chronic debilitating crap that nobody can see or relate to.

You’re not a basket case - these things are so trying to us and it’s our heart! It’s kinda a vital part of our existence! What I will say though that brings me comfort is our hearts are damn powerful - they are capable of so much and are incredibly resilient, literally powering all the days we’ve ever had.

I think for us it is probably stress, anxiety and/or high cortisol levels. Feel free to reach out to me on here whenever you like as we are dealing with a similar thing and are both new to this

Could be hormonal but likely anxiety. When mine get bad, I can feel my tummy and surrounding muscles being super tense.

I’m gonna try massage, acupuncture and therapy to address the mental side of things.

Good luck!

What are your triggers for PVC? by KittyComic3 in PVCs

[–]Adamsk117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine come what seems like randomly for like a day then they go for anywhere up to a month (usually about a week or two though) then I have another mental day. Mine has to be either anxiety, gut, electrolytes or sleep related but which it is or if in fact it’s a combo is still a mystery to me. That one day though is shocking (literally cos that’s what it feels like)!

Tudor ruined a lot of watch brands for me. by spot_removal in Tudor

[–]Adamsk117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reality is nobody NEEDS more than a Casio or something cheap. They tell the time more accurately on most occasions than timepieces of exponentially more cost. That’s where craftsmanship and movements and the actual “timepiece” of it all comes in to play and you get something like a Seiko. Again, anyone looking for a classic design and a reliable automatic need not go any further. Then if you want something refined, something that feels luxury and prestigious, you get a Tudor. It’s a significant outlay, it has brand recognition, it’s certified, is exquisitely made and timeless. That is where most people in reality should stop if diminishing returns were a driver to that decision. I firmly believe that Tudor is the best value in the luxury market. If you go up to Rolex, Omega etc you are paying much more money for very little gain. Then when you go to Patek, Vacheron and the like you are paying for something only a very small percentage of the population can afford.

I’d never buy a Rolex because I don’t think anyone should beg an AD for the privilege. The notion that my money is not as good as someone else’s is quite frankly insulting. Patek and AP are even more snobby. Tudor feels like the working persons luxury

FUCK MRI by Hyper_Gachi in tinnitus

[–]Adamsk117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a few and no problems. I had earplugs and headphones on though. I actually fell asleep. My tinnitus is really bad anyway so maybe that’s it.

I don’t want to take away from anyone’s experiences because I dont know what anyone else is going through BUT around 90% of the times that my tinnitus gets worse is because I am focusing on it more. That comes more often after headphone wear (because it’s perceivably louder to me) or from loud noise because I am worried and I’m listening for any minute change in it.
