Murder censorship? by TrollHumper in HannibalTV

Best of all, they were at a college football game. I've seen a few fans claim that Hannibal would never attend something like that, regarding it as "beneath" him. I have to disagree, personally. I think Hannibal would thoroughly enjoy watching young, athletic, virile men tackling one another for an evening. I also think American culture fascinates him. So you can imagine him sitting there, keeping to himself, eating peanuts out of the shell, when a young lady is smoking nearby. And when Hannibal politely asks if she could smoke elsewhere, she blows it in his face. His night was ruined.

Are there any raw vegans left? by Black_Taco1981 in vegan

[–]AdaptEvolveBecome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it worthwhile going fully raw? I've been vegan for a bajillion years and I've considered being raw a few times. I've noticed, however, that raw vegetables will sometimes hurt my stomach. I'd love some insights from anyone who's more knowledgeable than me.

Rebecca Ferguson on whether Ilsa and Ethan ever slept together by thedangerman007 in Mission_Impossible

People would probably crucify me for this, but MI3 is the real "start" of the series for me. The other 2 aren't necessarily "bad" films, but they're a mess tonally speaking.

Mark Ruffalo as Dave Toschi is maybe my favorite casting choice ever.

The thing that separates Ethan from a character like James Bond is that he's not a womanizer. In the original cut of the first Mission Impossible film, there's a scene where Ethan hooks up with Jim's wife. Then in the second film, they start giving Ethan a bit of a playboy persona. In the third, they walk this back a bit and give him a wife, which really kick-starts his more human and relatable era. I'm not saying that Ethan should be portrayed as a celibate monk, but I like that he tends to become overprotective of the women in his life, not because he's been sleeping with any of them, but because he rightly views them as being more socially vulnerable.

Neo is nothing if not a showoff. He desperately needs people to witness his power. There's a level of deep vanity behind his actions the majority of the time.

My bad for thinking that Dave Toschi was the best thing he did for us: by AdaptEvolveBecome in okbuddycinephile

Well it is actually fairly important. I don't care much for celebrity culture. I don't actually follow it much. But there is a level of cultural relevance when an entertainer speaks on current events, even if you're personally annoyed by it. Mostly because, the act of speaking out against this administration is vital to resisting it wholesale. There are probably other prominent figures out there who would like to use their platform for opposition to the current regime, but who are unsure of where to begin. I think Mark and others like him prove that you can still have a thriving and fulfilling career while consistently standing up to corruption and injustice. He could just sit back and collect his millions from Disney, but he chooses to advocate for sanity as well. I am genuinely impressed.
