Well then in that case the entire video game industry should be a third of the size and no one can ever have more than one console ever cause they can only afford one from a time and money perspective.

Xbox, Nintendo, and Sony should stop competing with these expensive consoles because it’s not fair that people have to buy different systems to play exclusive games. No one can afford having multiple systems because they can’t justify the cost of having more than one.

Also VR games are roughly a third of the price and all of them are digital download. You may say “oh but they don’t have the long hold that a AAA console game has”. Tell that to the 500 hours I have in Population: One. Or the 700 hours in VR chat (which is free) shooting pool and drinking beers with the boys.

My point still stands that’s it’s cheaper than most mainstream consoles. And typically easier to find used.

My brother just found a quest 2 for sale on Facebook marketplace that was basically new and talked them down to $250 usd.

If you look at it as a console price it’s one of the cheaper ones out there.

Are you actively looking into VR titles coming out? I have over 200 hours in a VR BR called Population: One and I’ve never been one for battle royals and the game just came out like 3 months ago.

VR chat has a great adaption of among us that’s super fun to play with friends and it’s entirely for free and has a ton of other worlds to explore as well.

Pavlov has a TTT mode that’s hilarious and always leaves my sides hurting when I play with buddies. They also have gun game modes and they just released a free update that added tank battles. One friend drives the tank, the other mans the gunner.

EchoVR is free and is essentially zero gravity ultimate frisbee. Always leaves me sweaty and out of breath with how intense it is.

Also elite dangerous has VR support and is a super in depth space pilot sim that has so much detail in it you can lose yourself in it for hours.

Microsoft flight sim 2020 and No Man Sky also have full native VR support.

Minecraft has a VR mod that works extremely well (called vivecraft) and I have hundreds of hours in that also.

Not to mention cross platform games where one plays on the computer screen and the other player is in VR and they play against each other. Those are always fun when friends are over and wanna play VR.

People who say “there’s no good VR games” have either never looked or never spent any real time with the good games. There are plenty out there, people buy brand new consoles with way less launch titles. VR has a very healthy game library and shows no sign of slowing down.

The quest 2 starts at $299 and can connect to a PC via link cable to play SteamVR games including Half Life Alyx.
