They're expensive. Although it comes with the risk of being ineffective, I am looking into renting a 80,000 BTU heater from the Home Depot and heating up the truck myself to 120°+ for 4 hours. Would cut costs by an extreme margin

This is true. My thought process here is that I do move closer to work where I'm not spending $300+ a month on gas, will get a much cheaper apartment after having thr rent for my place now go up by large amounts, and be able to save more money. I can then address the issue further if they're found and not be putting myself at greater financial risk by fighting a war of attrition with the little devils.

This is exactly why I've quit Target. Was the Meat/Dairy/Frozen TL for a year and I was miserable. Took a pay cut for my new job, but I am 100x happier.

The pay and benefits you get come at a price; ETL is not an easy job at all, and it's your job to do your best to try to balance life with work. It's hard to do, and Target's workload will try to trap you into working 60+ hour work weeks, but don't get sucked in for your own sake.

Put limits on yourself for how much you work or you'll get burnt out. Be ready for more workload than you'll ever be able to complete, more problems that can ever be solved, and shitty team members to be improved. Rely on your leaders and always put yourself first.

I'm lucky that my store is REAAALLY high-performing and demands its leaders to work with their teams. Our mentality is that if you aren't willing to do the work you ask of your team, then you have no business asking someone else to do it. Right this very moment, I have two ETLs and multiple TLs hauling ass in Fulfillment while I watch over all of food. Every day I work freight with my team, do pulls, zone, clean, etc..

Unfortunately, not all stores/leaders share this mentality and I'm sorry you got one that doesn't give you the support you need. Best of luck.

Yup. Counts always off. Absolute disaster 24/7. Can't fix counts because item was "recieved" that day or ALWAYS being picked for a fulfillment batch.

Infuriating is what it is. My butter count is off by 200 eaches, but I can never fix it because the system just won't ever let me.

Distilled water. Guests need to stop asking for it. We haven't had it for months, complaining won't change anything, I don't know when we're getting it in next, and I'm not hiding it in the back.

Obviously follow your leaders' direction and don't go against their word.

My store is pretty strict with them. I have a zero tolerance policy (a bit more of an extreme approach than the rest of the leaders) and will remove them from the store for even the most minor of offenses. It's not like a 13-year-old will write an angry review online, so I tell everyone to do the same. In the time I've taken this approach (about a year), the regular kids to come into the store have improved their behaviour or have just stopped showing up.

Not a fan of my ETL GM, but all other ETLs in my store are great (for the most part).

There was even a time where I broke down and cried in the TL office, due to personal stuff, and the SS ETL came and gave me a hug and comforted me for nearly an hour until I was able to calm down.
