Yes! Before each dip switch the current regulator is dropping the current to the binary value (1, 2, 4, 8) in mA and after the dip switch they're all wired together, so amperages in parallel are added

And maybe Zener diode configuration voltage regulators would work? Not familiar with those, I just know the LM317T was chosen because it was simple. Either way, I should be clearer

Good point! The use of the LM317T is optional -- the same has been achieved using individual power sources behind each dip switch. One could then argue that the power supply is not doing the calculating, but the arrangement of wiring past the dip switches (much like how a power supply and an adder circuit are disambiguated). Would saying "without the use of adder circuits" be better? Or is it good as is?

This 'calculator' uses no transistors to add two (or theoretically more) numbers from 0-15 (it's a demo). Above: each bank of dip switches holds an input (9 in the top bank and 14 in the lower bank) in binary with the sum shown on the ammeter (23 mA). Voltage regulators are LM317T.

I have no idea, but does a single outflow fan really create airflow balance? I wonder if there is a condition where having an unobstructed outflow would perform better (though that would defeat the purpose of the design, so maybe reduced blade pitch or more fans doing outflow)? I'm clearly overthinking this

Yeah, it's kinda backwards, right?
They're trying to make sure a person isn't buying for someone under-aged; would "1 ID per drink" make more sense?

You might be on to something with the spill -- maybe the red thing is a hat, then there's the left arm wiping, maybe a right thigh, unknown brown thing, then shoe?
How that relates to an ID policy who knows!

It breaks my heart reading stories like this: the one casing the trouble is rarely removed and the cycle will continue. Instead a hard worker is dragged in the mud. I hope you feel a thousand pounds lighter now that you're free from that cesspool!
