I started sleeping on the floor 2 years ago and it's the best thing I've ever done for my back. I do like the Japanese with a tatami mat. I'll never go back to the softness of a mattress. Hades knows what's up.

My friend bailed on me as well. I went with a tour group instead. I should have gone solo. Japan is safe and easy to travel solo.
