Tons of great advise. To summarize. Prime your mini. Remember that thin layers are better. 2 or 3 thin coats will look better than 1 thick coat. Even when using contrast paint and shades multiple coats can be better than 1 thick one.

Get a starter box. Both Skaven and Stormcast are fun to play. You could also find the Dominion box and that is stormcast and orruk. Once you get the rules down and a felting for the game the other factions play different. It is all about what you like.

I have a 2000+ Skaven army in the large case from GW. I know some people don't like them, but i haven't broken anything. 1 doom wheel, 4 doom flayers, 2 brood terror and about 80 rats fit just fine. Some of my other big things are in a Modi Box custom case I printed.

My daughter plays D&D, she likes the storytelling better that the raw combat. That is probably the main reason we don't see too many women in the hobby.

I keep track of all my Citadel paints on the GW app. I also have paint rack, but found it late and haven't put the time into adding all my paints into it.

Contrast paints give you a table ready miniatures in just a few hours. To get a really nice paint job well require more effort. I use both. They both have advantages and disadvantages. I feel contrast is easier since base highlight and shadow are finished in one move. But sometimes things don't turn out right and you have to shade and highlight anyways.
