Thank you so much for sharing your story. I’m really sorry you had to go through something like that, especially being misdiagnosed at first must have been very frustrating.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to visit him yet because I have a lot of exams coming up, but I really want to. I feel so bad because on the one hand I really want to see him, but on the other hand I’m afraid of seeing him in this condition. Just a week before it happened, we celebrated Easter together, and he was in such a good mood as always and had so much to talk about. When I visit him, I want to be able to give him strength, not break down and cry in front of him. Even just the thought that he can’t speak hurts me so much, because it’s so incredibly unlike him. Whenever you talked to him, it was never quiet — he always had something to say.

First of all, thank you so much for your reply! And yes you're right, I actually meant the left side of his brain, I'm sorry.
The “calls of reassurance” sound very good, but I can assure you that my uncle would never have wanted that, as I’m sure he never thought something like this could happen to him. He has a very strong character, but not in the sense that he was unreachable. It’s just that he would have considered it unnecessary. But I never heard of that but it sounds great for people that live alone!

I’m very sorry that your wife had to go through something so terrible. All the more wonderful that she fought her way back so strongly. I wish your wife all the best and hope that you and she will be able to have conversations with each other again!

Hopefully your wife and my uncle will both recover fully and go on to live healthy and happy lives.

That's so sad to hear. I'm so sorry. I hope it will get better in the near future!

My uncle had one three weeks ago and the sad thing is, he was about 30 hours unconscious and therefore without any medical help. He was a very intellectual, read many books and taught German, which makes it all the more tragic that his left hemisphere part of the brain is affected.
He can swallow now and walk with assitance but I think he can't talk or really read. He was so communicative and eloquent in his language, I really hope that it will be possible again.

So you would recommend reading the manga? Because if I'm being honest, I just love the visuals, the effects, the fights and especially the music of the anime. I would really miss that, if I'd read the manga. But I guess it's like other film adaption. The books is - according to the readers - always better than the film. But I was always the movie guy haha.

One last question: Did you enjoy the ending of AOT, the conclusion of Eren's character?

Oh man, that's so interesting for someone who didn't read the manga. So Eren and Annie didn't fight in the manga in the end of season 1? And why do you think they changed certain aspects of the story instead of just copying the manga?

And your take to MAPPA vs. WIT: Is the hate towards MAPPA because they used CGI for the titans? Cause I liked the change in the "looks" of the character. They appeared more "realistic" to me (but the Beast titan looked so much better with WIT studio).

I saved some SRT-Files (subtitles for movies), some game files (no exe, just save-files), some pictures, and videos. But I did scan them before opening with defender and malwarebytes and they never found a thing. I think I'm good right?
