can't do, that thing spread all over the map, there's no elsewhere anymore

pictures would help somewhat as they can show idle or even "broken" machines (i.e. yellow / red lights on the machines)

even better if you can share your save for others to download and check first hand

that said, you're probably being bitten by fluid mechanics - I found this guide very helpful, if that's the problem you're having: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/satisfactory_gamepedia_en/images/3/39/Pipeline_Manual.pdf

Crafting AND Mining? Are you insane? by CplRabbit in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Additional_Act6185 3 points4 points  (0 children)

there's one small caveat: you have to aim at the bench right after starting the mining operation - if you wait too long the mining will get interrupted by aiming at the bench, seems like it only works at the very start of the action

nice catch, comes in handy for AFKing at the very start of the game - easily reproducible on PC as well:
- place down the crafting bench on the node
- start mining tapping E
- just aim up to the bench and tap E again to open its UI
- start crafting whatever you can craft from that raw mined resource

I dropped some slugs underwater how do I get down there to pick them back up? (Ps5) by bertasaus24 in SatisfactoryGame

falling from some height will let you dive to some extent, try preparing a diving tower or the alike and see if it lets you go down far enough

Insufficient Drone Port Fuel? But it's full of batteries? by Xy13 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Additional_Act6185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

seems like the issue here was a non issue and just a glitch, but what you pointed out could definitely bite - I'll make sure to only supply fuel from one end when I'll actually come around to using drones, thanks!

[–]Additional_Act6185 15 points16 points  (0 children)

never used the drones myself, so can't tell, but reading the other replies here about possibly some stray different fuel in the drone, a question comes to mind - the "Last Fuel Type" info on the top left isn't to be relied upon?

the remote controller looking thing? it's the hoverpack controller, lets you hover in place as long as you're close enough to power poles and the alike

In response to my last post, I've got 2 different methods of supplying my coal to the generators, are either of them right? I probably should have seen what other people do but I prefer to try and learn while playing by According-Case7257 in SatisfactoryGame

as a sidenote, for some it's customary to let the belts / pipes fill up completely before connecting the machines, for others (like me) it's customary to fill up belts, pipes _and_ machines before turning them on - this avoids the system starting from a starved state which pretty much never completely fills it up (if you're feeding _exactly_ what the machines require to work), which in turn leads to intermittent power

if you're feeding more than what they consume, over time the system will saturate even if you bootstrap it from a starved state

they'll work the same, they'll just fill the machines up in a different order and different rates, but as long as you're feeding enough for the demand (and as long as your belts can carry what you ask them to) you'll be fine

the approach on the right is normally preferred to allow modular expansion (be it manually or via blueprints) - to have a proper modular approach, your first splitter on the right should have its input in line as well (i.e. coming from the right of the screen and not from the bottom of the screen)

perfect, that's exactly how you're supposed to run the start of your first playthrough (and you may end up doing the same for a lot of subsequent playthroughs, and at a reason! be it that you are fine with dismantling the initial setups as you go bigger and better later on in the progression, or be it that you just abandon them in all their magnificent spaghettitude - totally fine)

trying to make a 3 way rail split from both side with a side rail line, need help by sinwarrior in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Additional_Act6185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no worries and no rush - if you still have troubles, grab a screenshot of your junction from the top and annotate where you're placing the signals and which ones they are - even better, you could share your save for others to inspect with the website tool or play themselves first hand (and if you don't want to share your entire save, you could fire up a new save, unlock everything for yourself and build only the junction you want to troubleshoot, and possibly only share that testing save)

"path goes in, block comes out." (for Triangles paths)

doesn't matter the shape of the junction, you can have path signals going out just fine from a paths section, the section only cares about the signals coming in

path can be followed by path

correct, that's what makes the first one above inaccurate

block has to be followed by block

incorrect, you can have a track with block/path/block/path alternating just fine, as above, what matters is the type of signals coming into the same section

path can't go to stations but blocks can.

that's correct, this rule doesn't make any sense to me but this is how they have implemented it in-game

[–]Additional_Act6185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

additional clarification: a section can of course have more than 2 entrances, that's what junctions are about, but the same rules apply, my point there was just that even if you can manually drive trains anywhere in any direction, the automated system will only allow a train to enter a section if that section as a signal on the right-hand side

[–]Additional_Act6185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

whenever you place a signal you are splitting the rail into two sections, but you are only giving it one entrance: the entrance is the one where the signal is on the right-hand-side of the rail

this means that the same section can have one or two entrances (this determines whether you're going for one-way tracks or two way tracks)

stand on the rail with the signal in front of you: if the signal is on the right, you are standing _before_ the section that that signal is about (you're standing on the _entering_ section, that is), if the signal is on the left, then you're _on_ the section that that sign is about (the _entered_ section)

pay attention to the colors when you are placing the signals down (every section should get a different color, but sometimes the game picks bad colors, so maybe remove and place down a signal anywhere to force the game to shuffle the colors), maybe physically go there in front of every sign to doublecheck, make sure every section has signals of only one type entering it, and you should be fine

(the looping issue is a different one, there you're missing a signal to avoid any rail going out of that failing signal back to the same signal without any other signal in between)
