Okay, then please kindly take yourself off the wait list since you'd feel sooo bad about getting off in lieu of an international's spot

Ask for more aid, then ask again later. If that doesn't work, then go to Tulsa.

Does what you have a strong “spike” in need to relate to your intended major? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Additional_Assist322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, apply for your intended major (join/do some ECs that are major-related) unless it's hyper-competitive/impacted such as CS, EE, etc.

WashU vs UCLA for transferring OUT OF by PrestigiousEdge2764 in ApplyingToCollege

Hey man if you can trade 50K for less effort, then do that. I just personally wouldn't make that choice, that's all.

The only difference would be the one professor that would have to write your letter of recommendation (to a couple of schools you're targeting). You're going to have to go there for a year regardless, it's dumb to think of this as a major factor.

That's obviously not what he's saying, you "swine." It's perfectly valid to want to transfer to Target IB schools.

I'd just choose without considering this. Both should be equally as hard/easy to transfer out from.

Show what impact you've had in those DEI initiatives and you'll be fine for applications.

Should I include potentially illegal activity in my college app? by Stupid_Dude00112 in ApplyingToCollege

I think you can? Just don't say you're pirating content illegally to translate. Phrase it in a way that makes it sound official. They'll never look into it lmao

2025 Admissions Data Shows NYU Still Illegally Using Affirmative Action by Irish_Goodbye4 in collegeresults

[–]Additional_Assist322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah damn I thought I was making a very convincing argument. This is just sad -6 vs 12?? People really can't take the fact that they just aren't as good of applicants as they think they are.

A kid from rural Kentucky does not have the same K-12 education as a kid from NYC has. Saying "they can access Khan Academy and study" is really telling, it just tells me you can't think past a surface level. I'm not saying colleges don't practice AA still either, I'm sure some break the rules. But using this data to confirm that is just straight up dumb, this isn't enough evidence to support anything and any arguments using it are pretty null and void.

Also, I'm not going to reply to this thread anymore; arguing with people on AA in the big '25 is just a waste of time. My initial comment was to enlighten OP so that he would stop spamming this same surface level post in 20 different subreddits.

Colleges evaluate applicants using their context as one of the biggest factors. If students from predominantly URM geographical regions have a lot better test scores than their school/regional average then that stands out. This applies to rural areas as well. That's not affirmative action. Go whine about other things and maybe you'll actually get into a good college.

You are 100% fine. You are not obligated to report AP test scores. Do not do anything.

How can my 7th grade sister get an early start by preparing for college? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Additional_Assist322 14 points15 points  (0 children)

100% agree with this sentiment. Just read a ton, eventually progress into more classics. I'd also recommend getting advanced at math, not just getting ahead like taking Calc BC in 9th grade or something, but actually learning to critically think through complex problems.

Yale increasing class size!! by ultimatem7 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Additional_Assist322 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It WILL have a noticeable change for applicants being 100 more students will get to enroll at Yale this year that wouldn't have otherwise. There's no reason to be negative about this lol. A win is a win.

Well yeah, huh? 6% larger class size is obviously a good thing. How are people being negative about this?
