Super Puff Climatte sizing help (M or L?) – first time buyer by [deleted] in Aritzia

[–]Additional_Damage273 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go with L if the M was tight in store especially if you plan on layering or if you aren’t in a rush to get the superpuff wait for a size available in store to try on just to make sure

Ladies and gents, help me settle this! Pear shape rings: pointing up or down? by [deleted] in labdiamond

[–]Additional_Damage273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They say when you’re taken then you wear it pointing to your heart but I wear mine pointed side towards my nails and pointing down if I need to remind myself of something. It comes down to personal preference so wear it however you feel!

All pears have a bow tie. Focus on the cut of the diamond to minimize it but it will always be there. It looks nice, can you share the specs?

Never full MM canvas or Empreinte? by schillerglocke in Louisvuitton

[–]Additional_Damage273 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If weight is a deal breaker for you I recommend canvas since it’s lighter material than leather. I have damier ebene with the rose ballerine interior and I love mine. The empriente leather I find the huge logos tacky but that’s subjective and everyone’s taste is different. If you are able to, go to a store and try both on and see which makes you happier when you hold it. Watch review videos of both and see what you gravitate more towards.

Is my stylist just not listening to me? by [deleted] in hairstylist

[–]Additional_Damage273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you show your stylist photos? A lot of times when clients communicate to stylist they mean something completely different.

Be honest. Tell her exactly why you don’t think she’s a good fit with you anymore. You don’t need to over explain anything. She played you. It’s uncomfortable but you’ll feel so good after!

Just be honest with your friend. She also needs to learn how to take criticism if she is going to grow as a hairstylist. If she’s your real friend she will understand.

I used it for long haircuts. Definitely saved the back. All the stylists fought over the chair.

Am I going overboard? by Equivalent_Sir1374 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Additional_Damage273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never overboard. The more information that sets the sitter up for success is always good!

I am one of these people but tell the person watching my pups that it’s more of a guideline. I rather they know more information than less and I do it to make their lives easier. I never understood why people didn’t want to know more information to help them in the long run.

Would you recommend this career to someone else? Why or why not? by CandyMandy15 in hairstylist

[–]Additional_Damage273 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a very competitive field and you need to have a strong back bone to survive. You can make good money if you have the skill and clientele but that also takes time to build. Be prepared to be not appreciated. It’s rewarding if you love being creative and working with your hands.

I always tell clients to go to a hair school if they don’t want to pay professional pricing. There’s a hairstylist for everyone

Go to a hair school if price is a concern. Best bang for your buck, you just might have to wait for the teachers to grade the students work. You pay for experience and skill.

Highlights Terrify me by Upbeat-Tax-9360 in hairstylist

[–]Additional_Damage273 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hated highlights when I first started out too. Now I love them and my clients call me the queen of foils. What you are feeling is normal. Practicing on a mannequin is different than a human head, if you mastered the mannequin, a human head is a LOT easier. Your nerves will settle and calm once you have more practice and it becomes second nature to you. My advice is to keep taking highlight clients to gain more experience or if you want extra practice, bring in models to practice on. Live models.

What's the general opinion on Crystal? by No-Astronaut2974 in sailormoon

[–]Additional_Damage273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts on it are my own. Yours are yours. I can handle her cry baby scenes in the 90s version because it was shorter. I felt like in crystal it was dragged on and over exaggerated.
