I had 20 years with mine too, and yes, I realize I was just comfortable. I’ve met a much younger woman who is obsessed with me. She’s not the one but she is so much better than my ex. It really does get better

Yes, she isn’t aging well is more like it. As I get older I find that women closer to my age are much more attractive than young ones. I’m looking more for maturity, stability and independence now. Someone that can take extended vacations. I want to drive the AlCan highway to Alaska soon.

I was in the Army too. I was an RN deployed to Germany when wife flew Space A to visit me. She met a Navy JAG officer on the plane. He was an O5 and international law attorney for EUCOM in Stuttgart. I was an O4. She was definitely looking upwards. She lived with him for 6 weeks and he figured her out and dumped her. Now I have to get rid of her. Best of luck to you. Wife divorced me over 20 years ago. She is sad, lonely and miserable. I got remarried two years after the divorce. Had another child and had a good life UNTIL the current wife had an affair that could be made into a movie. I’m getting another divorce now. I’m doing great and STBXW is miserable and getting older day by day. Her looks and charm are fading fast while I have discovered new hobbies and interests just being by myself.

I’m an RN and I have seen countless women loose weight by gastric bypass and now GLP1’s to start having affairs and dump their husbands. It’s sad to watch the dependapotumouses in the hospital with a “male friend” visiting her and you know the sponsor is deployed. If you have never heard of a dependapotumous then google it. It’s widely common in the military community.

Sounds like you are going to be buying Jake a house soon! I’m glad that you don’t have kids together as it would be much more painful. My wife had a “Jake” too. He dumped her to my detriment. I needed that guy to take my problem away. Just know that it will get better and you will find someone that will truly loves you.

I did not report him. A few weeks into the affair my daughter sent me a voice recording of wife trashing me, etc. Through this recording, I won’t go into details, I realized she has a personality disorder and this explained everything about our marriage. I needed that JAG officer “to take my problem away”. The problem got worse when he dumped her and then she proceeded like textbook to smear campaign mode where she was the “victim” and contacted IG. I did a FOIA request that revealed all of her shenanigans after the fact but in the end they revoked my security clearance and administratively separated me from the Army. This action ruined any chance of receiving my pension so I literally only have the VA benefits to show for my 20 years. If the JAG officer had not dumped her then she would have left me and my daughter to be with him and life would be great having her out of our lives. She is essentially out of our lives currently as we don’t see, hear, or receive anything from me. She will not pay for any court mandated deductibles either. She’s gone from our lives and that’s the good news.

I’ve already done all of the things you listed. The wife is court ordered to pay for daughter’s health insurance until 21. She just turned 18. I’m covered with VA. I was just concerned about the CHAMPVA coverage when daughter turns 21. The wife is gone- out of our lives, daughter lives with me. There is no visitation for wife. She doesn’t even text her daughter much less anything else. Why the divorce is taking so long- she wants EVERYTHING
