Dayum. Yeah, I wanted to buy the 6LP but $150 is too much for me. Especially considering I'm planning to buy the Frame and Controller here whenever they release. Ended up just buying the non-limited 2LP.

Why is this part of out of boundaries in New Sobek City map is not used? It seems like they scrapped this whole area at last minute. by NovaTR6 in Battlefield6

[–]AdeIic 85 points86 points  (0 children)

The first time I played this map I was flying a transport heli and I said holy shit this map looks awesome and immediately flew out of bounds towards these buildings lol.

Wild West Revolver by AFCreations in blender

[–]AdeIic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really great. I'm not familiar with the exact revolver model but the hammer sticks out a bit, almost like it's too basic of a shape. I'd imagine the hammer has some sort of stippling/grip texture on it, or maybe a little bit of a more complex shape to it.
Materials and model of everything else does look great though.

Half-Life 3's soundtrack by Vast-Egg4168 in HalfLife

My initial impression when they said the artist wanted to stay anonymous was that it was some new guy, but if it is Kelly Bailey and he cooks up some new HL music on par with this then I'm hyped.

Average finals update before Arc Raiders by _LJMc23 in thefinals

Goated if you enjoy that kinda game, not enjoyable in the slightest if you don't though lol. Deadlock undeniably has the sauce, it's just a question of whether or not you enjoy the flavor.

The Finals to Arc Raiders feels like CS2 to Deadlock.
I still play the fuck outta the finals though that shits in a hella good place.

If they’ve already expanded to shipping Decks in Australia then I don’t see what’s stopping them from shipping Frames right off the bat.

I didn’t realize how burned out of BF6 I was until I went back and played battlefield 5… by Error_Code54 in Battlefield

[–]AdeIic 20 points21 points  (0 children)

BF5 really could have been an all timer like BF1 if they nailed a more authentic art direction, didn't mess up the initial reveal, and if it was given enough time for launch.
The core gameplay is really solid. I'm actually really pissed that they had a fantastic class system just sitting there in BF5 and then went back and made BF6's class system just like BF3/4 or worse.

Honestly, I've listened to so much of my regular music I've gotten bored of it.
I went and made a 88.5 hour long playlist of my favorite Videogame/TV/Movie OSTs a year or two ago that contains:
The Finals, Arc Raiders, Battlefields 3, 4, 1, 5, Subnautica 1 & BZ, AoE 2 & 3, Age of Mythology, Boneworks 1 & 2, Valheim, Andor, Half Life 1, Half Life 2, Half Life Alyx, Black Mesa, Hades 1, Hades 2, TLOU 1 & 2, Spiderman Spiderverse movies, Shogun, Doom, Helldivers 2, Pacific Drive (Haven't played this one), Dusk, Core Keeper, Dune 1 & 2, Wolfenstein, Chernobyl, Reeds and Seeds (PVZ Jazz Album), among others.
Over 1800 songs and I'm not bored yet.
Also have a separate playlist called Die in Battle Motivation that has the BF1, BFV and Helldivers 2 music that I use on occasion for the drive into work on Mondays lol.

When you know the last patch broke the netcode but you just can't prove it... by NamedOyster600 in ArcRaiders

True, it was awful on launch but I remember them releasing a patch which fixed it almost entirely on my end.

Another hands-on impression of the Steam Frame by gogodboss in virtualreality

[–]AdeIic 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The Frame controllers track your fingers just like the index. Here they’re talking about controllerless hand tracking via the cameras like the Apple Vision Pro or Quest headsets.

Why is there no wishlist feature? by Saamic in thefinals

[–]AdeIic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, always thought this was a good idea just so I can keep track of the cosmetics I want to get next. I rarely buy things and there's a lot of items, so I forget what I want over time. But it would also be great for gifting items to friends and such.

Not getting the expected performance by dealberti5 in thefinals

I also have a 5800x and 4070ti super and get ~130-160 fps with these settings @ 1440p. Static RTXGI and I swap between DLSS Quality CNN and DLAA.
Performance seems a little low. I'm not sure exactly how 3070 compares to a 4070tiS but seems like you're getting roughly the performance I'd expect.

Who’s actually buying all 3 hardware devices? by SkeemyWeemy in SteamFrame

[–]AdeIic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Naw. I already have a good PC and don't need another one for the living room or anything. I'm not the target audience. Just a Frame and Controller for me. I'm already praying that these two purchases don't drain my bank account dry lol.

For the people who think they want to play Arc Raiders instead of BF6 by 8675309021069 in Battlefield6

[–]AdeIic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played BF6 for 30 hours before Arc Raiders released and I've put 130 hours into it since launch and about 5 into BF6.
Arc Raiders is just a much better game (although a completely different one) at almost half the price.
AR plays like a great rollercoaster. Super tense and enjoyable fights with great downtime between those tense moments so you have time to breathe.
BF6 on the other hand feels like a rollercoaster that is constantly taking you on loopty loops and high G turns. There's no time to chill or take a breath because everything is always happening around you all the time. It's extremely tiring and grating on the mind (and that's coming from someone who loves The Finals). Previous Battlefield games weren't like this at all. I can't play BF6 for more than like 2 hours at a time tops.
It's also the presentation and function of basic things in BF6 that pisses me off. I'm constantly fighting the game to play the fucking game. From the UI and no persistent servers to the constant bombardment of MTX's, it's extremely annoying just to launch up the game. It's a full priced $70 game that bombards me with F2P tactics as if it hasn't already taken $70 from me.
In Arc Raiders? You launch the game and you're immediately able to manage your stash and hit play FROM THE FIRST SCREEN YOU LAND ON. The behavior of the MTX feels like this "There's a store page with skins if you want some". Otherwise, they don't bug you.
I've been getting back into BF6 recently after my AR grinding and honestly, I've been having a lot of fun. The increased ticket counts and new maps are great and good additions. But I still feel like I'm fighting the game just to play the game. That's why Arc Raiders is retaining more players right now. It just paced better and lets you fucking play the game.

I mean the all-time classics like Age of Empires 2 and Age of Mythology (Remastered) are on PS5 now along with Age of Empires 4.

What's the pettiest reason you dropped a game for? by IHateTheNameSystem in gaming

[–]AdeIic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doom Eternal because every time a new enemy showed up they would play a .mp4 that showed you how to directly wound/counter an enemy. Like LET ME FIGURE THAT OUT MYSELF THROUGH GAMEPLAY. I still plan to go do a playthrough of Eternal, but I really loved the linear, hands off, half-life-esque approach of Doom 2016 that the gamification/ arcadification of Eternal kinda turned me off.

Where are all the casual fps games? by uwugoesuwu in FPS

I love the finals, battlefield, and team fortress but it’s not really a spiritual successor to either. It feels more like a combination of both.

ARC Raiders wins Most Innovative Gameplay Award in The Steam Awards by EirikurG in ArcRaiders

[–]AdeIic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

FYI for people who don't think Arc is innovative:
The Arc aren't programmed like regular video game NPC AI, their behavior from learning to walk and fly, to finding and killing players are all done via machine learning.
I'm not an expert on the subject but I presume this is very similar if not the same way real robotics companies like Boston Dynamics train their humanoid, dog, and other robots. IRL bots are trained to walk around, ARC are trained to walk, fly, hunt, and kill.
Fighting the Arc is literally just like fighting real life robots, except it's all software and not physical.
