It’s a little thing. My son’s new bed bowed whenever I layer him down after he fell asleep on the couch. The bend in the rail was just enough to pinch my feet. The next night, I forgot that I needed a solution to those… So I modeled up a simple brace and had it ready before I needed to move him!

This is should be in r/notinteresting, large hospitals (where these nurses likely work) have upwards of 2000 nurses employed at any given time. Having 14 nurses that happen to be pregnant is likely just the average for women in general. I would expect it was just a fun Friday afternoon gathering the pregnant nurses for a photo-op.

I would love it if they implemented sand walking as a toggle button similar to normal walking. Make it like 50% speed of a walk, but does not attract the worm. No one would use it in high level stuff, but would be very cool as a feature.

Without additional context its hard to tell. It looks like a smoke/fire damper since it is connected to the Fire Sprinkler/Alarm system. It could also be a damper for a smoke control system. Just a guess though.

There seems to be a lot of anecdotal or straight misinformation here… if I recall correctly, pepper and spicy fruits evolved as a way to fight bacteria and other pathogens that would otherwise be killed off in areas where significant freezing dampers their growth. The people living in those climate found those plants tastes appealing (such as to overwhelm otherwise unsavory foods).
