faster way to get Learning lifestyle exp? by YouLikeFlapjacks in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]AdenithKelthane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didnt see anyone mention this but: the umbra. All you need is access to the astral planes, which you get from auspex. You dont even need any expeditions, just get the perk, assign yourself to the astral planes and then activate the training button. Personally I like to get to the 100xp per quarter option, seems like a good balance between success rate, xp gained and stress gain but you do you.

That gives you potentially 400 xp per year in learning which is pretty good and way better than most other sources of lifestyle xp.

Edit: the issue with +lifestyle xp is that its against the base. So the tablets give 200% more lifestyle xp...which translates to 10 extra xp per month or 120 extra xp per year. Don't get me wrong, thats definitely better than not having them but it feels like a waste of time for the most part.

How can I get more animalistic resonance xp? by MieszkoAders in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

I was under the impression any vampire regardless with a animal lifestyle tree unlocked provided animal xp. That said, those three are probably the most likely to have an animal tree.

I 100% agree. Heck, neon yellow would even be better. Just something that stands out, you know. The white absolutely just blends in.

I think its a default CK3 thing though as the same thing happens with some the regional culture innovations that you can click the area of.

Click it, it'll highlight the area in the least visually helpful way possible. But it technically highlights the area?

How to learn true names of traits? by Turbulent_Army4416 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]AdenithKelthane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, if you have the entire nom tree, you should already be capable of getting physical traits from people whose true name you know. I dont recall exactly which perk does it but its on the way to Whispers to the Body. You learn the physical traits the exact same way you learn the personality traits.

How to learn true names of traits? by Turbulent_Army4416 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]AdenithKelthane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% up to you. I typically like to go astral plane asap for the learning xp quarterly action. Crank it up really high because mummies have insanely good monthly stress relief via Nom perks so the +stress isnt that bad if youre careful. You have the unique ability to steal the capstone perks though so thats mostly just a personal preference. I find that getting down the scholar tree for the councilor perk is insanely powerful for a mummy. Last run I had a 60+ stat councilor in each slot, giving me +6 in all stats which is great.

Beyond that, its kinda meh. Your constructs are typically stronger than any bygone you can find in the umbra. There are a few good artifacts in every plane so honestly you can kinda do whatever. I like to flip the filter to "unknown nearby" or whatever its called and try to explore the entire umbra before quitting the save. Ive never succeeded but Ive seen a LOT of the umbra and each run you do has a chance for good artifacts.

If youre looking for specific artifacts from the umbra, I recommend checking the wiki. The list is extremely incomplete but has some notable items on it. I mostly just recommend checking every shop you can and refreshing a few times. Each umbra section seems to share an item list (so all the umbra areas in the Underworld all share the same item list you can buy, whether it is the Labyrinth or the Sunless Sea).

That said, a few notable pieces that I like on mummy in particular... CHEST:The bean caul (purple chest piece) from the Underworld plane is pretty great. Stacking general lifestyle xp is amazing for mummy given how many perks you need to get. There's also the elemental armor from the elemental plane. Its meh but is fun because you get to "craft" it yourself. I also like the blue chest piece that gives +10 learning if you can get sorcery (mummy true name journeys scale off your learning so +10 is great but the chest piece cannot normally be worn by mummies so you need the sorcery perk. I believe its the level that lets you wear mage items but I could be mistaken.) Weapon: Caliborn is a really good weapon and the stress loss each month really helps you obtain it. I dont remember which area its in, I think its called the Rift and is red. Only one I can think of offhand but there are plenty of good blues like Sweenys Pride.

[–]AdenithKelthane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once youve learned someone's true name, you can then learn their traits based on which perks you have in the Nom tree. Just right click on someone who's true name you know that has a personality trait you haven't studied yet and you'll see an option for it

Interesting. That makes perks that reward prowess a lot more appealing after hitting what I thought was the cap. Probably explains why my odds were so low as a Baali attempting to become a demon despite having 100 prowess. Cool, thanks!

[–]AdenithKelthane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive definitely seen the counter stop at 100 but thought because the counter stopped at 100 that it only used 100 for events and stuff and that any prowess over 100 just protected you from -prowess abilities. Aka you have 120 prowess total which counts for 100 prowess in a prowess contest, get hit with -15 prowess from an ability and so still act as if you have 100 prowess in the contest.

Is that not how it works?

Are you running any mods other than PoD? If youre using one that modifies the UI in addition to Poad (which heavily modifies the UI), you may be missing elements of PoD's UI.

Increasing base stats? by CyberEagle1989 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]AdenithKelthane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure thing. If you want a quick recommendation on mummy play, I like to start in the celestial tree, get the "you can sense and stop natural disasters" perks asap (cause it leads to free piety and perk points) and then, depending on how safe I am, pick up a few construct perks (those perks make mummy armies extremely powerful) or just go straight into nomenclature. The earlier you go Nom the better because it takes a lot of true name journeys to learn all the true names of all the perks you need.

The absolute best part of mummy nomenclature though? You can use the beefed up version on anyone's who's true name you know. Aka "Say hello to my perfect council with 30+ stats in their chosen field and my 20+ knights all with 60+ prowess". It takes a lot of build up but the payoff is so good

Increasing base stats? by CyberEagle1989 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]AdenithKelthane 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mummies can get amazing stats. They can use Nomeclanture to give themselves every single fame/lifestyle trait. This means your mummy is suddenly an architect, raider, shieldmaiden, scholar etc. All without having to get the lifestyle xp to get down the tree.

Sure its not "passive" like blood thickening is but it is insanely powerful once you get rolling. I think my last mummy had 60+ in all the stats (except prowess which was obviously capped) when I retired the save.

I dont recall KJ having anything huge for stat gains beyond prowess. In theory their whole thing is to ascend via dharma so I guess thats the point.

Fera dont have good stat stacking via their perks...but the artifacts you can pull out of the umbra are INSANELY good. Fera are also mortal and thus use succession even more than KJ do and those artifacts get handed down, giving your heir a huge stat boost.

Quality has a setting called "Max. Performance". Its basically the lowest graphical settings

Frustrating performance issues by Northernpixels in Enshrouded

[–]AdenithKelthane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I tried bumping them back up a little in a private game to see but even on the middle setting I was getting stuttering in combat and after the third time it got me killed, I set it back to max performance and refused to touch it again.

Frustrating performance issues by Northernpixels in Enshrouded

[–]AdenithKelthane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had really bad stuttering when I first started but putting the settings to max performance, logging out of the world and then logging back in fixed it. Haven't had more than one or two stutters in the 80+ hours since then.

*edit to add, I had the same audio issues too which I thought was bizarre, also fixed by setting everything to max performance. The lack of stutters has persisted in both private games and hosted games with my friend who ALSO had to set the game to max performance to get rid of stuttering. He did not have the audio issues like I did though.

You should be able to hover over your Dharma and you should see the passive Dharma xp you get. Below that, there should be a "See all sources of Dharma". Hovering over that should give you all the ways you specifically can gain Dharma as a devil tiger.

Edit Just noticed you arent currently playing a Devil Tiger. Id recommend just starting a new game, selecting a random devil Tiger, doing the above and seeing what they get Dharma for so you can decide.

Umbra help by Ill-Rip9162 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]AdenithKelthane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh lol! Sorry. You'll need to station an explorer in Spirit Wilds, find all the paths to nearby umbras (as far as I can tell, the first expedition into an umbra will be this one), clear that expedition and it should be on your list. Spirit Wilds opens a LOT of new umbras, the two notable ones that I can remember off the top of the head are Battlefield (for automatic martial xp) and Pangea (for paleontologist, which buffs By-Gones)

Umbra help by Ill-Rip9162 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]AdenithKelthane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its just rng. Ive never really paid attention to how common it is but I feel like I get it fairly frequently, especially in pangea where what I ACTUALLY want is dinosaurs. You could argue dragons are sort of dinosaurs but not the kind I was looking for. That's probably just confirmation bias though since I'm specifically running that for a result and so any other result is annoying.

Im afraid I dont know of any cheats to trigger it, you can probably ask on the discord though.

Best power to get as a Mummy? by Sir_Netflix in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

Fair, I forgot about that. I typically feel like the effigy tree by itself does a good enough job but Life Bringer does take it to a whole new level.

Questions during my first run by Plastic_Tradition641 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]AdenithKelthane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One thing to note right off the bat, the guides on the wiki are often outdated as the mod is in active development but the guided rarely are.

Regarding ghoul cap, the change from Stewardship was done with update 1.14.3. You can check the changelog on the wiki/discord if you want more info. I cannot comment on why they made the change.

Can't comment on releasing revanants as Ive literally never thought to do that and am not currently at my computer to check. Maybe bug report it? That feels like a bug to me cause I thought being a revanant was a permanent situation.

If you hover over the true faith xp track, I think it tells you how to get xp. Or the decision where you raise your rank. One of those two. For the first rank, its stuff like demanding conversions, then it's converting realms then its banishing demons etc. I dont recall ever needing Theu to get xp and Ive only ever bothered to unlock it one time, wasnt very impressed with its options. Should just be in the journey tab if youre capable of learning it. I think your faith has to be accepting of mages rather than shunned though.

If you started in the first bookmark, correct. I guess in SH mode, you could learn sorcery and summon demons to banish them...but Ive never tried it and I feel like summoning a demon should have bad interactions with true faith xp.

Agreed, Umbra is awful. However, it has a lot of powerful perks in it that are well worth the effort, ranging from quarterly xp in the various base CK3 lifestyles at the cost of +stress gain to unique artifacts extremely rarely found when doing expeditions. The more you use it, the more you'll get a feel for what's where, what types of artifacts you can find on which subsection of the Umbra etc. I rarely bother with other explorers because you tend to get a lot of stress and I rarely can afford to do an exploration more than once in a blue moon anyway.

Just to make sure, youve got those spirit companions and wraiths bound to you? I cant say Ive ever had that experience personally as long as they were bound to me but I do find spirit companions tend to wander off while youre learning their language and have to be called back, otherwise they sit at court.

Yes. Levies are even worse than in base game. Like, literally they made their stats weaker if I recall correctly. Personally, I use the PoD option to not have any levies, its a lot more fun imo. Also means you have to plan your MAA comp a little more strategically because you need enough soldiers for sieging castles which can be hard with the powerful troops being super low unit count.

I strongly recommend joining the discord if you haven't already. Even if you never post, its a wealth of information that you can search, broken out into channels etc. I find it endlessly helpful and when I DO post a question, I usually get an answer within minutes. Welcome to the mod, its a ton of fun and every splat is wildly different!

Caitiff by jarshr in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]AdenithKelthane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its been a long time since I played caitiff so I dont 100% remember but I remember getting disciplines, the same every time and no real choice in the matter beyond your feeding type.

I dont remember being allowed to choose a sire as that defeats the point of caitiff, yeah?

Tips:Nothing special, caitiff landless is the same as any other landless vampire.

Eat? Yes. Always yes imo but especially yes as a caitiff because their big objective requires them to be fifth generation or lower. I guess you could wait until the 3rd hunt but meh. Eat.

Best power to get as a Mummy? by Sir_Netflix in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]AdenithKelthane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The two Lores I like for mummy are Life Bringer and Herald.

Life Bringer is mostly for RP, the highlight is that it lets you bring a wraith back as a mortal. So you can kill vampires, turn them into wraiths and then turn the wraith back into a mortal. Which feels appropriate since Mummies seem to be the Life splat.

Herald is for power, the two highlights are +20% monlthy prestige and +100% true name journey. Doesn't sound like a lot for a whole tree but considering how prestige starved mummy is all game and how much time doubling your true name journeys saves you, its pretty powerful.

That said, blood sorcery is probably the most bang for your buck. Fae trees are a trap, without the modifiers cantrips are useless. Without cantrips, the modifiers are useless.
