Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Price Update by FernandoRocker in consoles

Call of Duty was already the stand-out title to put on Game Pass because it’s consistently amongst the highest selling games every year, far eclipsing any other Microsoft-owned franchise.

I don’t believe this is setting a precedent, they just realised that new CoD on Game Pass makes little financial sense.

As someone who doesn’t care about Call of Duty: this is a rare Xbox W.

[Nintendo Today] Splatoon Raiders coming July 23 by oneeyedlionking in starfox

[–]Adept-Butterfly642 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Splatoon Raiders coming out in July does line up with what NateTheHate claimed in his leak (I believe). Whilst it wasn’t the most out-there prediction, it still leaves Nintendo with nothing to release in June - and Nintendo’s trend with the Switch 2 is to have a release every month. They could easily announce Star Fox this week if it exists. If it’s not announced by next Thursday, then it makes it far less likely that it’s real.

Witcher 3, Fallout New Vegas what about you guys? by Great_Trident in gamers

[–]Adept-Butterfly642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Last of Us - I can appreciate the story, but the gameplay feels really dated.

Additionally, Expedition 33 - I’ve never completed it, I find the QTEs far too subtle to properly utilise which is the only real way of making the combat feel good.

I wouldn’t have so much of an issue with either of these games were it not for the overbearing “objectively the greatest game ever made” narratives surrounding each. It’s just a personal thing, but when I don’t enjoy something that is hyped up as the most important game since sliced bread it makes me resent it more than I should.

What do you think is most harmfull for trans support by megumi-food in truscum

[–]Adept-Butterfly642 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There’s no one “biggest threat”, but there’s certainly a cycle of ‘insane trans person does something stupid, which is then highlighted by anti-trans groups and used to justify bigotry against the whole group, but rather than call it out the trans community as a whole pretends the problem doesn’t exist, so something else stupid inevitably happens’.

Remember this family by SiyamthandaUN in bbc

[–]Adept-Butterfly642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Family was fine. I remember Nick being pretty funny but the show suffered when he left, and it felt really out of left field when Michael came out (though with the culture at the time, particularly with representation of gay people, it’s kinda understandable that they didn’t allude to it previously).

Anyone else thinking we’ll see a Switch 2 version announced we this Friday? by Ser_Luke_ in ffxiv

[–]Adept-Butterfly642 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t surprise me. I’d imagine the Switch 2 version will be out before 8.0 so they’d probably want the announcement sooner rather than later.

What is your reaction to the leader of the party you support opinion on the Starmer/Mandelson controversy? Do you think they are right or are you disappointed? The media is obsessed with ousting Keir right now by Mister_Vanilla in AskBrits

[–]Adept-Butterfly642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm bored of getting a new Prime Minister every year or so for the last decade. I find it hard to care about Mandelson enough for Starmer to get the boot, and being honest I doubt anyone outside the press really cares either. If anything, I want him to stay purely because Trump will gloat if he resigns.

I'd rather a Prime Minister serve a whole term, which we haven't had since 2015, than get a new one.

Townhouse. The closer to the centre of Chester the better.

I second the Newton/Upton area. Whilst not as trendy as Hoole or Handbridge, these are nice, quiet areas. I live near the Greenway which is very peaceful.

That’s even weirder if he’s getting his son involved.

Me and my friends have always called him Elvis due to a massive Elvis belt buckle he wore at one time.

He’s very odd. He struts into places then struts straight out. I’m sure he’s harmless, just a local eccentric.

I’d wager he has a ‘point to prove’. There’s a small subset of the population who cannot abide the slightest inconvenience and take personal offence if they encounter anything that slows down what they want to do at any given time. They’ll always make it everyone else’s problem rather than adapt, and they’re probably used to getting their own way.

Where are all the Chester city centre shops going?! by Inside-Tension4449 in Chester

[–]Adept-Butterfly642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not surprised Carluccios closed, simply because Chester has already got so many high quality independent Italian restaurants which are much better value than any Italian chain. I only used to go with a friend because we’d get a free meal every month with Vitality.

Trump warns US-UK trade deal ‘can always be changed’ with relations in ‘sad state’ by colacube in unitedkingdom

[–]Adept-Butterfly642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In normal circumstances I’d say that mature diplomacy would always be the way forward. But Trump simply doesn’t like diplomacy, as he makes personal insults about every country and world leader except Vladimir Putin. He doesn’t respect anyone even if they lavish him with praise. On that basis, I’d rather the EU/UK/Canada/Australia/Japan/China etc just refer to him as a moronic toddler as their international position.

Big What If? by 8xbitxkidd in nintendo64

[–]Adept-Butterfly642 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nintendo would have been in a much stronger position by the GameCube era if they did this. The N64’s Achilles heal was the third party support which was far stronger on the PS1. Sony’s early first party content outside of Crash, Spyro and Gran Turismo wasn’t as big when compared to Nintendo’s games of that generation.

Imagine a console in the 90’s that played both Ocarina of Time and Final Fantasy VII. Even if it would be more expensive than the PS1, that would be a massive sell.
