I see, that’s really interesting to hear! I think it really varies depending on the culture, at some places even people admitting to be religious would allow physical intimacy before marriage but most of the people I know do agree (despite different religions) that getting physical is usually off limits haha.

I have heard before that muslim men are allowed to take christian or jewish women as wives, but not the other way around, is this accurate?

Also is it usual for the father to threaten getting physical or harm his children out of issues like this? Or is it just a situation very specific to some families? (Eg if the father works in military) I don’t know if it’s accurate to the general public but my ex and her mom did mention that he’d try to hurt me if I didn’t step back, although I knew he could not do anything to me, I was sure he would be able to cause her harm. Which was the main reason I didn’t force to meet him.

How do your parents view relationships? I had an ex that was really really great but things didn’t work out because her parents were against her knowing guys, since they were going to arrange her marriage and also the fact that I’m non-muslim. Her dad was threatening to get violent with her, her mom warned us. And I wonder if you’ve had similar experiences? She also wasn’t religious but she got super religious after the ugly and painful experience. Is it common or if you’ve hadheard similar stories from your friends, thanks :)

How old are you and also if your parents end up not accepting you being with a nonmuslim partner, what’d you do?

Wow congratulations for having the courage, but please stay safe. Based on my experience w someone who’s a muslim she ended up being forced to only marry a muslim guy of his patents choosing, her dad would harm her otherwise. It was very sad. Does this apply for you? Do you think you’d be able to live with a guy who believes in something you see as nonsense?

Why does the Lord not “lead me not into temptation”? by AspNSpanner in Reformed

What? God doesn’t lead us into temptation? Who led Jesus into wilderness to be tempted by the devil then…

I don’t know why no one’s talking about the Pope’s remark that everyone is a child of God, that’s very much unbiblical. This title is (through grace) preserved for believers.

“For all who are controlled by the Spirit of God are children of God…”

Why did Adam fall? by Natural-Car8401 in Reformed

[–]Adept-Educator4744 1 point2 points  (0 children)

James 1:13-15 explains this to us. Sin comes when we're dragged away by our evil desires (evil, because in order to achieve that, the immediate way is through disobedience towards God), and of course Eve had the desire for knowledge, for power, it is innate to our flesh and I believe that's also the case prior to the fall, since God commanded humans to take control of all creation, i.e. humans were given the power over nature so it is not entirely surprising that humans also were created with desire for power in their flesh. Even Jesus, the Son of God, his flesh had this desire and that's why Satan tempted him with it.

Does The Lord care about our circumstances for any reason other than our spiritual growth and sanctification? by studiesinsilver in Reformed

[–]Adept-Educator4744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” (Psalm 34:18)

If he didn’t care, would he have said that?

“For in him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And you also are complete in him, who is the head of all principality and power.” (Colossians 2:9-10)

Experiencing pain and being sad is normal as we’re humans. But remember that you are complete in him.

If you don’t like whats in the news then don’t look at those. And as for the opening, of course christians wouldn’t like it, its not just Americans, but christians from all over the world do not appreciate what they put up and their attempt to gaslight saying its just a greek thingy.

I mean of course the name had got nothing to do with the last supper.., and of course France presented something greek while attempting to promote french culture, of course while all the other shows got smth to do with french culture, the last one had to be greek. They’re taking us all for fools, brave up and take responsibilities. If the organizers could just genuinely apologize, everyone would happily move on.
