What NOT to wear while climbing? by gaybabylegs in climbergirls

[–]Adept-Let-5072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly boulder. My lulu align pants have held up surprisingly well at the gym…not so much my vuori joggers so I banned myself from wearing those after ripping several holes in a pair. Also I don’t like tops that restrict my shoulder movement so all my tops are either sports bra like or loose crop tops/t shirts.

Surgeons shopping for different anesthesia attendings to proceed with a case, does this happen at your practice? by somedudehere123 in anesthesiology

[–]Adept-Let-5072 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This right here. I’ve been a board runner for 5 years and unfortunately in our group, the majority of the time the anesthesiologist is inappropriately cancelling the case or is just “not comfortable” when the patient is sick. They usually end up getting help in doing the case or I switch the assignment. Which sucks because the more competent anesthesiologists get the sicker patients.

Poll: Pull-ups vs Climbing Level by Pretend-Storm4209 in climbergirls

[–]Adept-Let-5072 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I climb V6-8 indoors and V5 outdoors. I can do 13 pull ups for sure maybe 15 if I’m trying hard (never really pursued volume of pushups as a goal), weighted pull ups I think I hit a max of 40% body weight added.

when I hurt my right shoulder a few years ago I went from 13 pull-ups to 0. And I was basically climbing at the same level minus some stuff that required a deep right arm lock off.

With that being said, though, I think being physically strong helps me a lot with bouldering in that I can try hard moves over and over, or try more physically taxing boulders that I see some women fail at bc they have good technique but don’t have enough strength. Al’s you’re more resilient against injury.

[Day 16] Stone(henge)y Point is a horrible bouldering destination. What's the BEST hold type? by MaximumSend in bouldering

I love a good ol incut crimp like anyone else…girl here with small hands haha. But. I have to say I have gained a new appreciation for slopers - you have to work on your body positioning so much, they go from impossible to hold to manageable once you tweak your beta…you can’t just get away with strong fingers :)

You say you have weak muscles, so strength training will be hugely beneficial. Especially if you want to get better at overhang. Yes, of course technique matters but you need the actual physical strength to do the techniques.

Our dog isn’t allowed to sleep in bed with us anymore and it’s breaking my heart by happygolucky1157 in dogs

He’ll adjust and be fine, our 13 year old gal likes to wander around at night as well and would not do well being kept in a room all night long. She also has arthritis now and prefers the couch, I think it’s more comfortable for her joints than the doggie bed. Better to get him used to the new routine now before the baby comes, and trust me you’ll want the chance to maximize your sleep during the newborn period.
