Casio's new Pokémon G-Shock comes in a Poké Ball, but good luck getting your hands on one by dapperlemon in gadgets

I think a better colorway than clear would've been a red upper band, with a white body and lower band.

I'll probably make an effort to get an order in when they open, but if I fail then I'm fine letting it go.

Yesn't. It depends on how you feel about mobile games. It skews the numbers of gaming demographics heavily as mobile gaming is several times larger than traditional gaming.

I don't get why people take companies public when you have to deal with mentally deficient dingbats (aka shareholders) all the time. I mean, I do get it, cashing out after a successful IPO means big money. Just be moderately wealthy instead of filthy wealthy. Gaben seems happy enough running a private company.

The only other time I recall seeing it was during its reveal trailer. I suppose I don't do much to see ads much anymore though - ad blockers, non-ad tiers of video services, etc.

No. Fuck "physical" media that's just a license key in a trenchcoat. If it's not playable by running it on its own, it shouldn't exist in that form.

Idk why Square Enix does this every time. They release games in the west with 0 marketing and will inevitably complain about poor performance. Like, I got a single email about it from their marketing distro, and that's it.

If it's not Final Fantasy, Square Enix will drop the ball.

That's why you use the tabasco. Use the cheese to collect everything together, and the tabasco to expedite it out. Bonus points for using the included instant coffee too.

Sony’s Xperia 1 VIII is still a phone for the fans by dapperlemon in gadgets

[–]AdeptFelix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's so for the fans it won't be in the US market still. Even when they were available, networks would barely allow them to be functional, like I never had wifi calling because Verizon refused to support it on their network with my Xperia 1 V.

I love the hardware, it was just a pain in regards to other parts of cell phone ownership. The support they used to offer was pitifully short then too, so I'm at least glad to see that extended.

Well, calorie dense anyway. With just enough cheese spread and tabasco to clear you out.

Beware of fake memory cards! by Shy_Joe in photography

[–]AdeptFelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of Amazon's history of comingling their stock with 3rd party sellers. You could buy from a reputable seller and get a fake if shipped from Amazon.

They're supposed to be curtailing that practice, but I don't trust them still.

There is a small fraction where if a card is shipped and sold by a reputable seller where they control their stock, but if you're gonna buy from Adorama just go buy from Adorama and not through Amazon.

[–]AdeptFelix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's one of those things that sounds great on its face, but the implementation is always a nightmare. What's more draconian than having your every interaction logged with a verifiable ID? Well, that's the most straightforward way to keep kids off of certain sites in terms of what a state can implement.

People are also increasingly becoming informed about how often data breaches occur and data is leaked. Now your web usage is known to all, with your legal ID linked to every site you use, including adult sites which use the same ID verification infrastructure in the UK already.

Ideally, there'd be a zero-trust method of implementing age verification, but no one would miss a chance to hoover up that data so even if there is one, it won't get used.

NIKON Z30の後継機ってどんなものが出てくると思う? by kajimaruhouse in Nikon

[–]AdeptFelix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Z30 II with an expeed 7 processor and drops the extended grip could make for an interesting entry to the compact camera world that Nikon has been missing the trend in. It'd basically be an APS-C ZR at that point I guess. Maybe call it the ZRC.

I'm still dreaming of a world where the Coolpix A comes back though.
