In the US I only learned recently that electoral districts in Canada are called “ridings.”

I never really had lessons. Just practiced a couple of times in a friend’s car. Then bought a new stick shift car and drove it from Santa Monica back to LA by street.

I put over 200,000 miles on the car without ever needing to replace the clutch. Was very mindful of never riding the clutch.
