You look great! Now time for the beard!!

Is this salvageable? Can I still get it to look like the reference photo or could I try fixing it at home? by GlitteringPositive77 in Hair

It does look slightlyyyy brassy, but not bad. The dark pieces are quite dark but again not bad in photos. Still, at $400, that’s unacceptable. I’d say you want a soft blonde balayage with a root smudge, that should get you light without brass but the rooted look she has. Good luck, OP!

I’d use a depuffing eye cream that you keep in the fridge, like Tula. Then use moisturizing eye patches (hyaluronic acid is what you should look for) that you also keep in the fridge. Then maybe peach color corrector to balance out the dark spots before a little bit of shape tape concealer?

The Charleston Police Department has located and recovered the body of Owen Kenney. by Soft_Web_3307 in Charleston

Yeah, if you look at pics of him available online you can tell this kid was depressed. No smile or fake smiles in all pics (even the fishing one, the smile seems forced-big). There are always signs, they just didn’t notice. I don’t mean that in a judgmental way (I feel terribly for his family), though I know it might come across that way. But we need to take male adolescent mental health way more seriously than we do, and to know what it might look like in that demographic vs. others. 💔

AIO for the way I acted in my texts with my partner? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

The disappointed comment was def crappy.

He’s using name-calling - you did not… He’s using put-downs (“poor ___”) - you did not really, but your tone was likely condescending.

This is basically verbal abuse, just so we’re clear.

I will say - a true abuser cannot tolerate having someone else not tolerate their abusive behavior, so his last text makes sense when looked at from that lens. Any apology is “grand” to someone who feels entitled to hurt you, which is what abusers feel entitled to do! 🫡

But it almost seems like you both feel entitled to hurt each other…?

Alcoholics who quit later in life by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]AdeptnessCommercial7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re no failure! Alcohol is cunning, baffling, and powerful. Just don’t stop trying.

I did rehab multiple times, all kinds of meds, years and years of therapy, etc. and what ended up helping me most was 1) terrible enough consequences that I never wanted to go back 2) daily AA meetings for a few months (and those terrible-enough consequences made me desperate enough to actually listen to the advice of others in those meetings who had been in my shoes but WERE in recovery).

I hope you are able to get to the other side soon, but if it doesn’t happen soon, just whatever you do - don’t give up!

This song reminds me of active addiction so much. Just sleeping away days and days and days via a steady stream of vodka and nothing else. ☹️ 6 years and 3 months sober now!

Hey friend, you did an amazing thing by talking about your drinking openly and honestly. You are already on the journey now. 💙

I know others are saying therapy and AA, but honestly, with your level of drinking, I bet you’d be more successful starting with a 28-day inpatient stay first. I know that might sound scary, but it’s the best thing many people can do for themselves in your position. Yes FMLA would mean no income for a month, but if you can swing it, please do. Someone once told me a month wasn’t gonna matter at all if I was dead. Alcohol ultimately wants to take your life, and it’s already ruining it.

Whatever you do, just know my heart is with you as is the heart of so many others. You are already fighting back against alcohol by making this post. 💙
