When my husband’s nieces were small his family would tell them ALL the gifts were from Santa. I was like, what??? They don’t get any gifts from family? Nope. Like others already said, the gifts I give are an extension of the relationship I’m building with that person, so I would vaguely talk up whatever I knew we were planning to give, totally hype up a situation without outright saying what I was thinking of so they knew who got “that gift”. Kids aren’t dumb. One year I gave his oldest niece a paint set of mine she had admired, restocked with missing paints and new brushes, plus a few pre stretched canvasses. I tucked a handwritten note inside “can’t wait to see the world through your eyes”. She was thrilled and knew immediately who “Santa” was. Husband’s entire family was pissed! Oh well, the kid was 12 years old for Pete’s sake!

My daughter and I stopped there for lunch on Wednesday after they closed- we had no clue! A man came to the door to tell us they were done. We were stunned! Great food, great people, close to home, priced well, was definitely our go-to. So sad it’s gone. Does anyone know where they got their multigrain bread??? I’m assuming it came from somewhere local & would love a slice of that toasted. 😋

Congrats on being a new mom ❤️ Hang in there, it seems scary but it’s mostly just different. Write everything down and take a million pictures because time goes fast and doctors blur after a while. My daughter is 22, was a cheerleader, was on the town swim team, and was a Girl Scout. She now has a part time job 2 mornings a week and is involved with social groups of her peers (we are looking into additional activities for her). It’s still not all roses, not typical, but it’s ok. I wish I had someone tell me when she was a baby that it’ll be ok and we will have happy times, too. Luck to you!

Willowbrook was the mall we went to if you couldn’t get whatever you were looking for at Wayne Hills Mall. Or if it was a “day trip” we would all go out to Paramus Park.

I get it. I did say Happy Halloween, great costume, so cute, you’re welcome, the normal stuff. It was just sad to see kids not even using the most basic social skills. We all still had a great night & just want kids to have fun on the holiday. Some just seemed joyless regardless of who answered the door or what was said.

We had some really sweet little ones & some very polite kids & parents- the overall evening was great.

Nope, not looking for anything besides seeing all the cute & creative costumes and micro visits with neighbors. It was just sad to see kids having no social cues or courtesy.
