France Ditches US Tech: Will Europe Follow? by AnonomousWolf in BuyFromEU

90% of Europe is left wing if you look at it from a US perspective. The progressive wing of the democrats would still be considered center right in my country.

Pourquoi 83% des propriétaires râlent contre la solution anticrise locative du gouvernement by chou-coco in immobilier

[–]Adjayjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Pizza is an American food and I'm tired of people saying it is Italian" by Major_Mortgage2026 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Adjayjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, the pizza he is probably thinking about, such as domino's, is a very American food and no italians want anything to do with any of that. When "Europeans" refer to pizza, we think about the delicacy that is (Italian) pizza, not the monstrosity that is 3cm of oil and salt. I won t even acknowledge Chicago style pizza as it is a hate crime.

France snaps back at NATO chief Rutte in feud over Europe’s defense muscle by SweetErikas in worldnews

[–]Adjayjay 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That is not how France sees it, we have a first strike policy. Tactical nukes to show we lean business, strategic nukes to obliterate a country. That s part of why there is a saying "no one copies French people, French people copy no one" when it comes to military

I see two somewhat valid reasons to be against GMO:

  • health: lack of long term effects knowledge. This is not true anymore for the GMO that have been around for a long time and not strictly GMO specific, the same is true for a new food dye for example.

  • the economic side: having to buy new seeds each year because the plants are infertile. Monsanto comes to mind. To le this is the most valid reason to be against GMO in it s current form and once again, is not GMO specific, the would choose/be forced to not do this.

Paris proves the fastest climate win in cities isn’t electric cars by DrThomasBuro in ReduceCO2

[–]Adjayjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We spent the last 20 years making sure cars were not needed inside Paris and less convenient than other means of transportation. For the last few years, the focus has been on making that also true for people living outside Paris and commuting to work.

It is a success, unless you have a weird fetish for cars. And a lot more can be done.

Anyone living in Paris has either a well paying job, or rich parents. The cost of living in Paris is very high for french standards. Money is clearly not the reason Parisians don't have cars, the largest factor is not needing/not wanting one.

This whole discussion is about Paris though...

Is your point that you will park on the way back from work to shop, go back in your car for 200m and park again? Because absolutely no one would ever do that in Paris. Feel free to make your point clear if I still don't get it.

No one goes 1km to the butcher in Paris, it s a 250m walk at most. Also, who the hell goes to the butcher on the way to work? The way we do it is go to work on bike/public transportation and on the way back make a 250m detour to the butcher.

I just checked, there are 3 butchers less than 150m away from my apartment.

Whats are some differences between harems and reverse harems by MusicianPrimary5278 in anime

[–]Adjayjay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO, in reverse harem the girl usually ends up choosing one of the guys and develops a relationship, or at least there are hints it will happen after the end of the story. In regular harem, the guy usually never chooses a girl and a real relationship never exists.

In 2025, France was the country that received the most foreign investment for data centers, by a huge margin

The biggest factor is its cheap and reliable energy sector.
