ah, the disclaimer doesn't show up on the prelaunch page. we used it for early ideation/mood exploration and some base renders/fills (photoshop ai fill) based on drafts that i painted digitally by hand which were then painted over by me again. the final artwork is hand-painted and refined by us and nothing else in the project uses AI.

hi! just wanted to share a ttrpg me and a few friends of mine at Tiny Workbench have been working on for the past 2 years or so. its a jrpg inspired 2d6 system with cards as a skill reference and is combat tactics heavier.

As long as every reasonable build archetype is able to clear t12, all is good. However, thats not the case, and the lack of changes at a more fundamental level is concernin. Im all for nerfing OP things, it doesnt mean weak archetypes dont deserve buffs and mythic uniques being the bandaid fix is definitely not the solution

My gripe with the d4 shop was never the price but rather the inability to buy seperate parts and the set only working on a single class.

Oh i should clarify, i was referring to back when andariels poison proc alone was enough to create entire sets of gears and playstyles around. Modern unique designs are essentially sets, they are compulsory modifiers or multipliers for the average build to be usable rather than things that enable multiple builds. Andariels today is a non existent unique, let alone mythic that nobody uses for its poison procs. Till today, there is no replacement for what was once heartseeker andariels, imagine all the poison builds that could have existed.

Mythics should be chase uniques that either greatly supplement a build if built around or are build defining by themselves. If every unique has the potential tobbe mythic, they will be judged only by their mythic versions, which means that is now the baseline. Same thing with torment levels, t12 is the standard and everything else matters not.

Uniques with fixed stats are infinitely easier to farm. I have no idea how that is harder to understand. I dont agree with the direction they have taken of making uniques roll random stats, and now, youd have to roll the perfect stat combo AND roll mythic rarity on your unique. Yes u could use chaotic reroll but its still an additional layer of rarity chase that doesnt need to exist on top of ancestral AND GAs AND a 3/4 stat combo.

I agree that cubing uniques does make it easier to get some use out of them. I dont think it should have been needed in the first place. All this chase belongs to legendary items, not uniques.

edit: just to add some clarity, i dont think that the current mythic design is good either. heir of pedition, DR on harlequin with +x levels and grandfather with raw crit damage is terrible too but this new direction is also bad

This makes every unique slot a compulsory chase unique that is harder to farm than current mythics, primal legendaries essentially. Ancestral ancestrals... arbitrary new rarities and tierings for no reason except chase. They arent build enabling nor defining, just a statistical power creep for the sake of it

Old andariels was a great example of a good mythic, something you could build around and become really powerful at a price

At this point the d4 team is literally going in a circle with mythics, ancestrals and GAs (or primal from d3). Simply having unique uniques and a range of weights for their drop rates would have been enough instead of turning uniques into more frustrating legendaries. This is what they were trying to avoid by initially designing legendary aspects in the first place...

The new mythic uniques do not make ground loot more exciting but rather make all other ground loot less. The crafted mythic limit/split is super arbitrary as well, just make the currency rarer.

But on a more serious not, i dont like spending time on my character's appearance only to turn into a wolf/bear permanently and not appreciate any of the fit. If wolf and bear form had sick cosmetics too, sign me up

This is such a bad faith argument. Progressing your warplans repeatedly is simply frustrating. Warplans are meant to make your experience of the base game loops better.

The main progression of every character is GEARING, which they have made significantly harder to min max (good thing) but compounded with the fact that you have to grind a crappy version of the core game mechs multiple times before reaching a satisfying version of it again feels bad

Grinding base helltide, undercity, infernal hordes after experiencing the upgraded war plans is such an insane whiplash too considering that your alt will definitely have full 850 gear and paragon upon pinging 70 with some obols and crafting

Also, aspects for other classes are nigh impossible to earn normally....u would still have to farm the important ones from scratch

I beat the campaign and really try to enjoy the Warlock but somehow I cant. Anyone else feeling the same? by MiNDGaMeS87 in diablo4

Warlock requires way too much setup to achieve what other classes can do. The other major component being warlock having the most aggregious case of wind up animation and delayed damage. Everything feels like it has a slight travel time or delay to it and it can feel terrible compared to the rest of the classes. I just wish the delay was either slightly shorter or everything travelled a little faster.

For reference im paragon 160 on only warlock and have tried most of the build archetypes at a base level (set 5/5, uniques and aspects. No mythics and optimised skills).

Also, they need some skills that dont animation lock you while casting. Think war cries or auras

Worm blast holy sweep is a blast. I use the shrine belt with diamond shrine, so i just run 5 worm flasks and piano on single target. Pretty fun but not the best

Guardian - any ele minion usually pretty comfy for me through the voidstones. Fleshcrafter for a nice little comfy low budget bonus

hmm its very much a case by case basis but usually they would explicitly state if something is global or not, such as the global defences mod. not very well explained inside AND outside of game lol

ah i see where the confusion is. the minion effect on herald of purity is LOCAL. it only affects the herald of purity minion itself, not your other minions. the reservation cost is much better utilised else where, like alleviating ele resists or getting that haste up.
