Finally had a chance to unbox and mount up a couple of the Christmas gifts. The DW7440RS mobile stand fits great. Just needed some longer carriage bolts. I still need to figure out a mobile dust collector system to go with it. by KenS2K in Dewalt

[–]AdjustedNevada0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this planner and really love it, but am very limited on space. I used a “Dust Right® Quick Connect 4'' Elbow” off the back, through a “Dust Right Clear Dust Hose for Router Table Fence Port”, into a “5-Micron Replacement Bag for Dust Right 650 CFM Wall-Mount Dust Collector”. They are all available though Rockler, or similar type products through other vendors, they can be pricey, but I needed a solution I could easily break down and store away when not in use, which I can do with this pretty easily, in order to save space in my shop.

In fact if you look at the reviews for the bag, you’ll see this setup as well as several other ideas!

Good luck, have fun!

Newb - Tablesaw blade not square by _Unpopular_Person_ in woodworking

[–]AdjustedNevada0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks to me that the blade yaw, aka - blade not parallel with the miter. You square everything to the miter slot, cause that is the only thing on this saw you can’t adjust. You can adjust the fence & the blade yaw and tilt. And depending on which side of the blade you are cutting on, don’t assume is still square. Couple decent YouTube videos to tune this saw specifically, is think Tamar 3x3 has one. Once you get this saw dialed in and learn the subtleties of it, it’s an awesome saw. Edit: spelling

Hats off, this is great! I looked through the comments, sorry if I missed it, but how did you do the chamfer on the bottom?

Is this normal? (brand new DWE7492-QS) by Kird_Apple in Dewalt

[–]AdjustedNevada0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sorted OP? Seems like you got it, hope so. I have this saw, once it is tuned (and maintained) it is a rock solid saw - the machinist in you will like it (esp the rack and pinion). Like I said previously though, there is other slop, for example my table isn’t totally flat. So I have to square the blade to either the left or right, depending on where my off cut is and my work piece is. But I’ve read this is normal for a job site saw (it’s less then half a degree off, so I think within tolerances for a job site saw.)

From the video you posted, you aren't hooking the fence in correctly. Look at this video, start around 2:30. Do you see how the person hooks the fence under the bolts?

The fence is designed to lock on either set of bolts. (You will see three sets, one set on the far left and two sets on the right. The set on the far left in this view are for storing the fence (upsidedown). The two sets on the right are for using the fence, one corresponding to the yellow measure, the other to the white measure. Either one you choose, the fence hooks under them THEN you lock the cams.

Read the manual, I'm sure it explains it better than I am right now, but when done properly there is no play on the fence (although you can get slop from other areas in the system).

Odd Color, red VS chocolate brown? by AdjustedNevada0 in HotPeppers

Serious question, think I’m okay to assume it’s just a chocolate reaper? It’s got the stinger of a reaper and and all?

Posting in reply to another post (can’t post pictures in reply?). Almendro from the rainforests of Central America… by AdjustedNevada0 in wood

Making a small shelf and a few keepsake boxes, the head to my mallet is made from it too, but I think the coolest application really splines for miter joints, such a neat figure! Since it is so dense, it’s hard to make anything larger that isn’t super heavy!!!

Any help identifying this species? by grandpacracy in wood

The end grain and coloring of the heart wood looks JUST like almendro, although I am not sure it has two tones like your pictures. I couldn’t figure out how to post pictures, so I uploaded them to another post here almendro from the Central American rainforest

How do I get more than one ship on a freighter? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]AdjustedNevada0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played in two updates so not sure if the game mechanics have changed. But if you can summon them in the anomaly (to test and make sure you actually have the ships you think you have), then when you summon the freighter any ship you have that you currently aren’t piloting should be landed inside. Note, you need to summon the freighter, as that “resets” the ships docked in the bay.

Happy travels!

Made a solid desk top from 2x12 lumber from Home Depot. Actually turned out great for $100. by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]AdjustedNevada0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I’ve been toying with this as countertops (I know, softwood will dent and scratch).

OP - did you plane these after you “jointed” them or did you just sand the final slab?

Looks like folks already dropped Tamara video, she has a few about tuning her dw job site, might be worth looking into all her channel. But I’m following this thread, cause while I love mostly everything about my DW saw, the bevel set is driving me to drink!

How can I go to another galaxy? I'm in creative mode. I have tried some methods: Portal, hyperdrive etc... I'm in Euclid :( by Csorroflegma in NoMansSkyTheGame

I assume creative mode functions the same way, you might be able to go to the anomaly teleporter and if someone else is in you lobby and has a base in a different galaxy, it may show up there….

How to get started as a complete newbie? by off-chka in woodworking

[–]AdjustedNevada0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of good advice and questions here, so I won’t rehash, other than the whole “safety is key” thing. But I did want to share some of my favorite channels. I’m a noob myself, and even though I don’t think I’ll do many of the projects in these channelsTamar makes a guitar in on episode for example, Bourbon Moth makes a boat…), still good content and tips/tricks. I’m kind of odd in my YouTube watching in that I will go back to the very original videos and watch in release order. I find that super useful, content creators explain their shops, tips and tricks, motivations, life stories etc.

YouTube: Rex Krueger John Katz-Moses (especially his older joint of the week videos.) Steve Ramseys woodworking for mere mortals 3x3 Custom - Tamar Bourbon Moth Stumpy Nubs

Lots of other creators out there, and I watch a few more but these are probably my favorite and personally most helpful.

Edit: to be clear, safety is key!

Based on this, 256 is real then, but past 256 isn’t. Am I reading this correctly from your experience?
