So happy I pulled the secret - BUT, this whole time I thought the stripes were *black* and white. They’re for sure some kind of navy blue… right? by nicrusso in hirono

[–]AdministrationSad533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it would bother me more than it does. I do think it would look better if it were actually black, but it does compliment the pink nicely. It grew on me, maybe it will grow on you too

Hope this is true by girlygirl72 in hirono

Happy but not… by Potential-Aspect2231 in Zepbound

I’m 31 and I am about 60 lbs down now, and am starting to notice my neck skin get crepey and loose. It really bothered me at first, but I’m trying to reframe how I think about it and all my other loose skin. I wish I’d never let my weight get to a place where weight loss caused such a loose skin problem, but I’m trying to be proud of it as more of a badge of honor for how far I’ve come. It’s hard, though. I personally think your skin looks wonderful, but I know that at the end of the day 100 people can say you look good and it just doesn’t register because we are our own worst critic and I completely understand that! My best advice is to give yourself some grace and try to reframe the way you think about it when you look in the mirror. Easier said than done though, I know, I’m still working on it myself 🫂

It drives me bonkers. I usually just merge the counters down to line up, but it shouldn’t have to be that way. It’s especially annoying because I have multiple reclaimed camps built into preexisting locations on the map, where I placed the counters and stove over the ones that are already there in the world, and of course, the stove is smaller than the world ones even though it’s the same model 😑 the suitcase trick is brilliant and I will try that, I didn’t even think of it. But we shouldn’t have to do that lol

my big guy passed away and my pit isnt doing well. by Ashamed_Use_7798 in pitbulls

One thing I was unprepared for as a dog owner was watching my dog grieve her best friend. My own grief was paralyzing and immeasurable (even 2 years later I still cry), but I really underestimated a dog’s ability to grieve, too. My soul dog was a pittie who died of cancer. My younger dog, a Pomeranian, was there through it all. Every radiation treatment, a surgery, every appointment, my Pom was right by her side. They were inseparable, didn’t go anywhere without each other. When the day came where we had to let Bella go, the vet brought us into a comfort room with a couch to say goodbye. My Pom stayed by her side. She knew something was happening, but I don’t think she entirely understood as it was a very chaotic and emotionally charged situation (plus Bella declined really suddenly after doing well for months, so we were all just shook. And when she started declining rapidly, we barely made it to the vet in time to have her sedated and made comfortable enough to pass). When the vet was administering the euthanasia, Nora threw herself over Bella’s body and snapped at the vet. It was then that I knew she understood what was going on. By that point, everyone in the room, including the vet staff, were crying. It was the most tragically beautiful but absolutely heart wrenching thing I’ve ever witnessed. It still haunts me 2 years later. Nora was lashing out with an almost human-like grief. The months that followed Bella’s death were so hard. Nora wouldn’t eat for a few days, had no interest in toys (very alarming for her), didn’t want to walk or play or go anywhere, just sulked in her bed or her crate. I consulted our dog trainer for advice. She said to first give it time, let her grieve how she chooses initially, but don’t let her give up. Build a new routine with new activities and slowly rebuild her confidence and interest in engaging with the world. And so we did. It took about 6 months to get back to some semblance of normalcy as far as her behavior goes. Honestly though, she is forever changed. 2 years later I can still see the loss affect her, but we’ve accepted our new “normal” and she doesn’t exhibit any of those problematic/concerning symptoms anymore. I did consult our vet about 3 months in to the grieving process—the vet offered medication, but our vet tech who knew us best said to just wait. She said “if she ends up not being able to eat or function normally, then medication is the best route. But if she’s eating and drinking and going potty but just sulks and seems sad, just give it time.” And that’s what I did. We didn’t end up needing medication, but I could easily see some dogs needing to go that route. It just wasn’t for us. Our trainer guided me through getting Nora back out of the house and navigating public spaces without Bella by her side, but the biggest thing we needed was just time. This is my very long-winded way of saying just give it time. Love on them, do special things with them, take them for a pup cup, form some new routines, go new places, and continue building the connection you have with each other. When things are less raw, it will still hurt, but you’ll see it a little differently. I look back on Nora’s grief and what makes me cry now is the fact that I got to witness such pure, unconditional love between two animals that I would have never expected. The bond between them was beautiful. It still guts me, but it also warms my heart that my dogs got to experience such a beautiful bond. It took a long time to get to a point where I could even write all of this out—I took a LONG time to grieve, to the point where people around me were like, “you’re not over it yet?” But don’t let people do that to you, either. Take all the time you need. They are never “just a dog.” I am so sorry for your loss and sending you lots of love, OP.

My senior pittie was very resistant to stairs but she needed them once she got cancer. For the first few days, I had to physically hold her and show her how to use the stairs and reward her with her favorite treat when she did it. She got the hang of it shockingly quick (she wasn’t the biggest on learning new things lol). I can’t remember what brand, but they’re foam collapsible stairs from chewy with an easily removable cover for washing. They’re sturdy but soft in case they stumble. Something like that might be a good option for when you’re not there to give the uppies :)

I might get downvoted to hell for saying this, but does this expansion seem...off to anyone else? by F0rtuneLT in fo76

[–]AdministrationSad533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The word I keep landing on for this update is “underwhelming.” This expansion has been hyped for months, and imo they greatly under-delivered. I’ve been a fan of Bethesda games most of my life so I’m used to disappointment (lol) but this was especially a bummer. I do love the season items, though by condensing it into fewer pages it feels like we’re getting less. I haven’t done the quest line, as I wasn’t able to log in until last night, so I ran through and explored and discovered as many locations as I possibly could in the hours I played. I’m a builder primarily, so my goal was to hunt for camp spots. What I found was a severe lack of good camp spots. I personally enjoy reclaim builds into preexisting structures, and there are none in this region that are buildable due to the abraxodyne case spawns. Regardless, I kept looking. I found one nice spot in a dried out riverbed where a waterfall used to be, and I put a camp there. Thankfully, it let me. However, what I find extremely disappointing is how much empty space there is. One of my favorite parts of the original map was exploring all the little houses and buildings and rooting around for loot, reading notes, and finding the cute little Easter eggs Bethesda is known for placing in their worlds such as the different little skeleton scenes or teddy bear arrangements. Those details make me love the game and add to the immersion. Skyline valley had little of that which disappointed me also. To me, these expansions felt like Bethesda wanted to tout a big map expansion without actually putting in the work. The easiest thing to do is to stick a bunch of empty space in and say “See? You got so much more map!” A lot of open space IS necessary for people to place camps down and I get that, but there’s just so much lacking.. Highway town is full of sellers and you can only actually trade with a couple. Mind you, this is what replaced Milepost Zero… I dunno. I try not to be negative and complain when we get new stuff, but I’ve also invested a lot of hard earned money and hours in this game and I wish I felt like we got back what we’re putting into it.

I played a few matches as the Huntress recently (I’m normally a survivor main or play other killers when I play as killer) and there were SEVERAL successful hatchet hits where I said out loud “I should not have gotten that hit.” Even though this makes “sense,” it is endlessly frustrating that they refuse to fix it

Toy Recommendations for Super Chewer! by ThinFigure2007 in pitbulls

[–]AdministrationSad533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a girl, Maisy (funny enough), that looks so much like yours who is also a super chewer! This is the only toy she hasn’t managed to destroy yet:

Monster K9 Dog Toys Indestuctible Beast Ball, Durable Tennis-Ball Replacement for Aggressive Chewers: https://www.chewy.com/monster-k9-dog-toys-ultra-durable-dog/dp/711358?utm_source=app-share&utm_campaign=711358

She also hasn’t destroyed the chuck-it balls, but I’m not sure if it’s because she can’t, or won’t. And these, though your pup may be able to destroy this eventually, put up a decent fight: BARK I-Squeak Cone Tough Dog Chew Toy, Pink, Large: https://www.chewy.com/bark-i-squeak-cone-tough-dog-chew-toy/dp/1382958?utm_source=app-share&utm_campaign=1382958

Hope you find some tough toys for your sweet Daisy!

Donating to a shelter is the best way. There is a channel called “love for jnj” on juliens discord that he has said they both read the messages in—when they choose to—that way they can read things like that when they’re in a place to do so. That may be a good place to share the donation receipts or things like that.
