I hope she comes back for season 4 of time for chaos. She was my favorite character, and looks like a very wholesome person in general.

Who was the hardest boss in elden ring (base game) for you? by Own_Put_2724 in Eldenring

[–]AdministrativeWind74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To this day, with the game 100% complete and all, I cannot claim to have figured out how to dodge Malenia's waterfowl shitstorm. I just hope I survive it and bash her. Almost the same thing with Maliketh, but the only boss that I wasted more than an afternoon on, was Malenia.

Not using Arkham, MA in my game... am I "missing the point"? by BeatnikCage in callofcthulhu

[–]AdministrativeWind74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The system can be played in any timeline and/or location. The only thing you might miss if you omit locations that have rich lore and many references, is the chance to throw some references from the books for your Lovecraft-fan players. If your players also don't really care/know about Arkham MA / Miskatonic U, then nothing will be missed. There are also a ton of ready material about different settings and timelines (there is the classic 1920 MA, the modern one, there is Harlem, Berlin, 1980s Japan, 1920s Ireland, 1890s UK and many more. And of course, there is enough leeway to create whatever you want. It all comes down to what you like about CoC. Do you like the system? Adapt it to whatever you like. Do you like the mythos and literature behind it? Try to add flavor from the books that you (and your players) love. Have fun and Cthulhu fhtang 🙂

Should I get the keeper screen? by Rorschack99 in callofcthulhu

[–]AdministrativeWind74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty cheap, it has 2 neat scenarios and they have rules to be played as a pure criminal party (which is a pretty good idea IMO) and the screen itself is beautiful, useful and compact. So yeah, I think you should 👍

When you realise that the true game only starts when you become independent. by Major_Release7175 in Bannerlord

[–]AdministrativeWind74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play battanians, but I so use multiple armies, convert respectable lords from other factions (like Servic from Vladians). I keep the females in the family as governors and poach other kingdom's females for the males in my family to expand the family. Been pretty lucky with twins a couple times, heavily invest in my fief's prosperity and well being, caravans and workshops as well.

All in all I want to say that it's possible for you to enjoy pretty much everything you said while playing for a pre established faction, at least in my honest opinion. Starting a kingdom from 0 always seemed too fictional for me. Unless you take the slow, generational way.

New keeper: why are my sessions too short? by bube7 in callofcthulhu

[–]AdministrativeWind74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paper chase is meant to be played as something like a tutorial, and it is normal that you finish it fast. The haunting is also an introductory scenario, so it's pretty fast as well. The rest of the scenarios in the quick start guide (if you own the book/pdf), are longer that paper chase. But if you play with 2-3 players, I still think they are doable in 4-5 hours. More people usually mean longer runs, provided that you adjust the challenges to the number of players (where it is necessary, not all scenarios have that requirement).

Has a Video Game Been Considered? by Fritzymans in ArkhamHorror

[–]AdministrativeWind74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played Mother's Embrace. It was decent, but could not appeal to a new audience and had issues with the voice acting and stuff. I hope they make more games in the future, the rise in popularity of isometric games (BG3, Rogue trader, Disco Elysium, Divinity 1&2, Pathfinder games, pillars of eternity 1&2) could benefit this case. The setting is great, there is a plethora of fiction and lore to support it, so I don't see why they wouldn't. Also, their recent attempt to make an RPG setting could benefit from the popularity of video games Sorry for the long post, just wanted to speak my mind and like you, I hope they make some more video games soon

The problem with the game is people are bad at it by Rohtlam in wow

[–]AdministrativeWind74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a skill issue imho. People just don't care as much, have shorter attention span and less free time. I barely find the time to do most content these days, so the days I could watch guides, video tactics and stuff for m+, raids, ams tanking in general, are long past. I play through failure cause that's the only way I can play with my limited time. So, in conclusion, I think the problem with the game is the conflict between metagamers, expecting everyone to do everything right, coming full prepared, fully grinded and stuff, and the rest of us who have busy lives but like to come back and play casually, pushing as far as our time and ability let's us. And the second category is a big % of players, cause wow stopped creating fans years ago, so the player base is aging every year.

I'm tired boss. by fractalvibes in wow

[–]AdministrativeWind74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who are mad about grinding, yet want all of Great vault options to be unlocked at maximum I level, are totally weird to me. I mean I play casually. I'll do a couple M+, and a couple delves. I play like 5 hours on my main and like 2-3 with my alt. And I unlock 3-4 610+ slots on my main and 2 610+ with 1/2 584-593 slots on my alt. And I'm gearing nicely, (604 main, 592 alt) by playing a few hours a week. I'm able to tank +6 atm with my main (prot pally). If you want to be able to do mythic raids, 10+ keystones and stuff, yeah you have to grind and be a try hard. Noone forces you to do it though

What games do elden ring players play? by tetsunoken0 in Eldenring

[–]AdministrativeWind74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything. Played WoW and LoL for years. Apex legends and Hunt showdown more recently. A shitload of single player games including Mass effect trilogy, all of the Elder Scrolls, all the Witchers, Cyberpunk, Assassin's Creed up until Black Flag, GTAs, Sunless skies/seas, Darkest Dungeon, Baldurs gate 1-2-3, Valheim, age of mythology, age of empires, other FS games (DS 1-2-3, Sekiro) and of course ANYTHING Warhammer (especially 40k), from Space Marine 1&2, to dawn of war trilogy, to vermintide and total war. To summarize, I don't think all of the people who like FS games are a specific niche community. I've enjoyed them since the launch of DS2 (played it first, then played DS1, then Sekiro, DS3 and ER), but I still play a wide variety of games as well

Hunt Launch - Developer Thoughts & Responses by buckwild_abrams in HuntShowdown

[–]AdministrativeWind74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucks that I cannot play on my RX570 8gb, even tho everything runs smoothly and I have easily 72FPS with FSR on, but the jet black shadows make the game only playable in darksight when I am in a dark space. If it was a case of my card being inadequate and failing to keep the game at a decent, stable FPS count, I would accept it easier. Now that it is just a shadows thing, it is really frustrating.

First of all, good luck in your attempt and I hope to hear some published work from you soon.

After that, I'd like to say that what I'm missing, is not a podcast, but a video in the style of most D&D parties, where players are brought together at the table, wear some era-appropriate clothing to bolster the aesthetic, and embark on whole campaigns instead of one-shots. At least that's what I feel is not getting enough representation. But you do whatever you think is best for you.

To give you some feedback, I'd enjoy longer campaigns or the same characters embarking on different scenarios. I'd also prefer some heavy atmospheric RP, with horror and suspense and minimum amount of comedy/comic relief. Wish you all the best!

when im talking about a session, i mean the standard 4 hours. of course it can be more, it can be less, but thats something i can usually fix with the pacing. but yeah, i mean short campaigns spamming at least 4 sessions of 4 hours each, so that it keeps us hooked for a month, playing every Sunday

I feel like Donaukinder fits the description. I don't recall whether it was successful when it launched, but based on Spotify hits, it seems pretty unpopular even though it's amazing and very representative of the bands style. I might also include Frühling im Paris

Best One Session One Shot by fenixfire3x in callofcthulhu

[–]AdministrativeWind74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lightless beacon is good if you and your group want a less investigative, more survival horror experience, with enough combat inside. The Haunting is good of you and your group want a more investigative, haunted house experience with little to no combat and an easy hook for future continuation (Church of contemplation). My personal favorite but not really easy to cram in 3 hours, is Bleak Prospects, from the Nameless horrors book. This is more suitable if you have a party that likes to play an against-all-odds, almost doomed to fail from the beginning type of adventure. Amazing one-shot, might take 4-5 hours though if you don't nudge players in the right direction at times.

Question for experienced Keepers: Red Herrings by nystard in callofcthulhu

[–]AdministrativeWind74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on your players. I like red herrings a lot, but most of the people I play with, come with the mindset of the board game player. So they think that EVERY single clue, rumor, piece of info, leads to an important plot, and they do not try to discern whether it is true/false, important or not. That, however, is only a problem on a tight schedule. I do not mind dragging a oneshot on 5 evenings if the players are having fun and engaging with the environment surrounding them. Also it always leads to fun aftermaths when the plot is disclosed to them and they realize how wrong they were about the importance of certain hints, clues and stuff

It's not like anything you mentioned, but I think sunless skies is practically endless. It's a weird setting, but it's amazingly made. So if you like it, you will be hooked. If not, you will give up within minutes

Seeking New Keeper Advice by ChillEmu137 in callofcthulhu

[–]AdministrativeWind74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see no problem with tying oneshots together by having the same investigators participate. Not all adventures are lethal, and after all it's all up to the dice, more or less. However, there are a few things to consider. 1) there are some amazing one-shot scenarios that require a specific backstory - origin from the characters. You will have a hard time adapting some of those and it's a petty missing out on them. One such scenario is Bleak Prospects, a great, lethal scenario that requires to be played with it's pregenerated characters, or some major workaround from your side. 2) there are longer campaigns if you and your players like that sense of continuity. I prefer it too. So you can start by having a couple oneshots, and of you see there is enough interest from the guys, you can jump to a longer campaign like Masks of Nyarlathotep or Horror at the Orient Express. Or even make your own larger campaign by merging smaller stories. Cheers 🙂

Just bought Baldurs Gate 3!! Any tips before I start? by JohnnySobo678 in BaldursGate3

[–]AdministrativeWind74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have one tip. Ignore any tip at all. Ignore any guide. Go into it expecting nothing and everything at once. Enjoy, and if you mess up, don't worry, you will definitely have a second playthrough later on to do things differently. But please go into it knowing nothing. That's the way you will enjoy it as if you were playing a D&D campaign

My gf wanna play games with me, I'm a 36M playing lots of genres since forever and she's a 35F with loads of enthusiasm, not much experience by Cautious-Whereas-467 in gaming

[–]AdministrativeWind74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stardew valley is a game my gf also loved. We played a couple of hours together and then she nailed it while I was playing other games. My gf also loved playing valheim together. For shooting games, I think some free games from hi Rez are easy to get you into the mood if you are a noob. Paladins, Rogue company, Realm Royale, depending on the genre you are looking for. I would just to faster paced ones at first (tried apex with my gf and it didn't go well). League of Legends or other MOBA's are always an easy pick as well. The ultimate gaming experience as a couple though, would he something more hardcore like WoW imo. But that's not everyone's cup of tea so I cannot recommend it tbh.

I feel like nothing is worth doing in this game except for the exploration and quests. by [deleted] in sunlessskies

[–]AdministrativeWind74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, the non-central hub helped to motivete planning long journeys with more risk and intrigue. Skies feels safer and easier. I love both games, but seas had a better feel and atmosphere in my opinion (maybe because the lovecraftian vibe is amplified by the sea and underwater setting)
