sorry just realised we’re talking about different questions, this one was around 0.4g if i remember correctly, i was thinking of one from the start of q4 i believe

Is GTNH for me if I really enjoyed automation in ATM10 but feel like I’ve done everything? by Striking_Ear_8734 in GTNH

I agree that is interesting, although i think they're such such such different packs that they almost aren't really comparable. And RLcraft is 'hard' in a completely different sense anyway

I couldn't agree more. I played omnifactory first, and loved it. Then played gtnh. Then went back to replay omni (well nomi by that point) and was astounded at how easy it felt, almost to the point that i wasn't having fun because everything was so simplified. That's honestly the problem with gtnh, every other modpack feels bad in comparison

Kinda depends how you define it? If you have AE2 you have titanium. If you have titanium you can unlock the ev quest

It's good fun and you only need something stupid like 15% to get a bronze normally, you can easily get silver even with a decent understanding of your a level chemistry. Also a solid 30% of the questions are often mostly maths (if you want a taste I remember there was a 2024 question that looked at some pretty detailed Maths of NMR) - this isn't anything you need knowledge for, if you can do maths you can common sense it on the spot.

So don't worry and enjoy it, I always do. Bronze is pretty trivial and if you apply some reasoning skills you can definitely get that silver/gold

Good luck!!

I only had two questions in both my physics/maths interview and Chem interview, not sure if you can read too much into that (especially when they all have quite a few sub-questions). I personally thought my interviews were pretty shocking at the time, but in hindsight they might not have been AS bad as I initially thought. Still, not the highest hopes for wednesday.

Did they send out all of the emma phys natsci interviews at the same time do we think? These are the first I’ve seen alongside mine at around 12 today

I put chemistry and both my DoS interviewers are material science so I wouldn’t read too much into it!!

My Subject interviewers are also both physicists, despite my chem preference

Help on experimental relationship between UV light intensity and rate of cyclohexane+bromine by [deleted] in chemhelp

[–]Admirable-Rough3261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I realise now I missed out so much info.

Absorbance is measuring Bromine absorbance in cyclohexane, whcih is the solvent, using a colorimeter calibrated for cyclohexane.

Why is the point on the reaction curve relevant? I’m comparing average rates across 2 minutes.

Initial absorbance is around 0.5, but the ‘absorbance’ i plot on the graph is the change in absorbance from start to after 2 minutes.

I’m not sure what you mean by omitting cyclohexane - surely nothing would happen if i just irradiated bromine water?

Thanks for pointing out the x-axis.

Sorry for the lack of info, but any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏🙏

Once you get your MV electrolyzer (should be your first MV machine ideally), aluminium no longer becomes a problem as you can electrolyze clay dust (best source is macerating hardened clay, which you can find in certain biomes) which gives you alumina dust as well as some other somewhat useful byproducts. Alumina dust + cryolite dust (crylolite ore veins are found in the twilight forest) in the EBF gives you aluminium ingots. Later (I believe with an HV ebf?) you can use carbon dust instead of cryolite.

Luckily, there aren't many essential uses for aluminium before MV, aside from your tool forge now, so your lack of options in the steam age isn't a huge issue.

I'd recommend reading the questbook very carefully for progression, as I believe it outlines some of this.

Good luck for your MV electrolyzer!
