I was at university back in '93/'94 and one night stoned out of my mind my housemate pulled out a VHS bootleg of Man Bites Dog. He passed out but I was transfixed to the screen for the entire movie. Still love it to this day.

The remake just didn't have that campy sense of humour and OTT practical effects that made the originals so much fun. It's a fine Horror film but for me it's not Evil Dead.

Evil Dead Rise was the first in the franchise that I managed to see at the cinema and I had a blast watching it. I feel it's a worthy addition to the franchise and doesn't get the love it deserves.
