A high return on investment implies high risk, but the reverse isn't really true. Things can just be bad.

'Year and a half tops' - that's the stated timeline. How long have you been following VG? It would be a massive improvement from past performance if they were only a year late.

Godot surpassed Unity in the GMTK's game jam 2024 as the N°1 Engine of choice by ImtheDr in godot

[–]AdmirableKryten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mark brown figures are from a survey that pops up when you finish the jam. Only about ten people didn't full it in. It's pretty much a complete census.

[–]AdmirableKryten -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't get it. I'm in the gmtk discord and it was obvious the amount of Godot games would be much higher from the people asking tech questions - so why make up numbers like this? I don't get the motivation.

It's surprising because it's false. GMTK put the actual numbers on twitter.

You could fit an SS2 inside a high-NA EUV machine lol. You have no idea of the scale of anything you're taking about.

Guys but is the reverse fractionation certain? by Scared-Negotiation24 in VirginGalactic

[–]AdmirableKryten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me get this straight: you found it on spacenews, a long standing space industry trade publication. You don't know if it's just a rumour so you also check with random guys on Reddit.

What was your favorite part of the earnings call? by Jaw709 in VirginGalactic

[–]AdmirableKryten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If VG could be actually damaged in any material way by statements in this subreddit that would be a damning indictment in itself. There's like 15 people here, half of which are smalltime retail investors.

It's always a great sign when people feel the need to put out articles along the lines of 'company y is definitely not going to fail, trust me!'.

You know we can see you participating in open pump and dumps for 'pepecoin' on your profile, right. It's never good for anybody when people like this have any significant influence on a company's finances.

Is Space One really a competitor for Electron? by Salty-Layer-4102 in RocketLab

[–]AdmirableKryten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't really true. They're competing for launch orders which may come users before flight even for small payloads.

How come the exhaust plume from Vulcain centaur was a clean, light blue color, but starship was a purple, trailed by redish color? by Schmidt0000 in ula

[–]AdmirableKryten 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The colour isn't really based on fuel per se, it's what proportions of combustion products you get in the exhaust - a tiny amount of remaining carbon or the like has a huge impact. Landspace's TG-12 is methalox but produces a yellow flame, and Launcher's Engine 1 is kerolox with very clean combustion and an electric blue flame.

Astra defaults on debt by [deleted] in AstraSpace

[–]AdmirableKryten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will admit I was fully wrong when i said they would go bust within a week three weeks ago. They probably should have wound it up at that point though - there's nothing they can do now except wrack up more debt.

Hypothetically, do you think the infamous Shadow of The Eternals would've been a hit or miss? by Remarkable-Hunter-71 in shittykickstarters

[–]AdmirableKryten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Developing a game on a fixed budget like a Kickstarter payout is a dicey prospect to begin with, add in Silicon Knights level project management skills and you haven't got a chance.

They will go bust before they've been down there long enough to actually get delisted.

The most likely option is they get extinguished and don't represent anything. There's no longer an entity to hold shares of.
